The best thing is to have him do it.

It is a much simpler surgery for a guy. It is about a 1/8 inch incision. I had mine done in the doctors office Friday afternoon. I was a little sore Saturday but I was at work and pain free Monday morning.

Tell your boyfriend he can't tell any difference in any way. there is no change in volume of semen or anything else.

You are not immediately sterile. You have to use up the semen that is already live. In a couple weeks the doctor will have you bring in a sample to verify you are now sterile.

the outline you received about tubal ligation isn't fairly acceptable. sure, that is painful- regardless of the indisputable fact that that is likewise everlasting. you do not favor your tubes tied till you're one hundred% efficient that you're all executed with pregnancies. medical doctors sidestep this surgical operation in the adventure that they could. I easily have had tubal ligation. even as that is a painful journey, you at the instantaneous are not meant to lie in mattress for 6 weeks and by no potential carry your children. You do want to take it common, yet no longer *that* common! LOL! they prefer you to be up and shifting round, that makes fix bypass a lot a lot less complicated and swifter. There are also weight lifting regulations- i imagine that's 10 lbs in the course of the fix era, to sidestep inner bleeding. Vasectomies are a lot a lot less complicated than tubal ligation (soreness, fix time, and value) and they are many times reversed. i do not understand any specifics although. in my opinion, i ought to lean extra in the route of birth control tablets, an IUD, or diaphragm. No surgical operation is ever relaxing, why do it once you recognize there ought to might want to be yet another to exhibit it round? It purely would not look perfect to me. Jmo. best of success!

Please do not get your tubes tied. It can be reversed but it cost thousands of dollars. Cheaper for him, as the gentleman said. But if you two are still dating you may want to hold up on either one doing it. Right now you may think that you two will be with each other the rest of your lives. I thought that with my first husband. WRONG! and we spent 13 years together. Then when I met Bryan, I fell in love instantly and I knew he was the one that I wanted to have a family with. I never wanted a child with my first husband. I think in a way I didn't want one because he didn't. that is a psychological issue there. But unfortunately, December 4, 2001, I had to have a hysterectomy so there went my chances of having a baby. But it didn't stop my family. Bryan has custody of his daughter so I have my family. She is a wonderful kid. KID what am I saying she will be 16 in January. LOL..
Good Luck and take things slow because you really never know. And I may stand corrected, but I think some doctors will not perform the procedure on women unless they have 2 kids (this is correct for Arkansas unless you haven't had 2 kids by 35.)

The procedure is safer for the man to have done because it's less invasive.

Both are permanent. and extremely difficult to reverse. Reversing a tubal ligation is potentially hazardous for women because it dramatically increases the chance of tubal pregnancies as the fertilized egg finds purchase on the scar tissue of the old procedure.

For men, reversing the process isn't dangerous, just ineffective. The man's white blood cells attack and kill the sperm cells that are trapped in the seminal vesicles. Over time, they become programmed to fight and kill the sperm cells that are produced but can't move. When the procedure is reversed, the white blood cells continue to attack the sperm cells, causing a dramatically reduced sperm count.

If you don't want kids - ever - a laproscopic tubal is fairly simple.
I got mine on a Thursday and was back to work on Monday.
I did stay off my feet until Sunday, doctor's orders- which was hard because I felt good.

A friend of mine got the same type, felt good the next morning and lifted a bag of horse feed. She ended up with a bunch of adhesions that she had to have surgically 'shaved' - a BIG hassle and a lot of pain.

Vasectomy is easier. It is actually done right in the doctors office. Tubal ligation is more of a surgery, requiring hospitilazation, and more recovery time, and more chance of complication.
