at 4-6 months, you should be introducing plain rice cereal, very thin and runny, gradually decreasing the liquid to thicken the consistency, and around 6 months, it is usually ok to start introducing one new fruit or vegetable at a time, for a few days before trying something new, just to make sure there is no food allergies.
Might I suggest you start with the cereal and then move on to veggies after clearing it with your child's pediatrician. The reason I say to start with veggies is because if your baby gets used to the sugary fruits first, you'll have a harder time getting them to eat their veggies.
Good luck!

The doctors say that you can start feeding them baby food at 6 months. I started to feed my son at 4 months because he was already sitting with support. As long as the apple sauce doesn't have anything processed then yeah it's fine. Try gerber or beech nut. TIP: When you start feeding them baby food don't give them different foods every day because they might be allergic. try apple sauce today and then try somethign different in about 4 to 5 days. Good Luck.

Applesauce is a little on the chunky side for a 4 month old...start with Rice cereal watered down so that it is mostly liquid....you don't want to start with something too thick because babies have a hard time digesting thicker foods at such a young age.

Yes, as long as it is -baby- apple sauce. Gerber is the one I'd recommend. It doesn't have preservatives and it's made specifically. My advice is add a little to their cereal, that way you can introduce it indirectly and see if any sign of allergies appear without giving a whole lot.
If you're still unsure ask your pediatrician.

Only with the permission of his/her doctor to begin solid food. At that time, yes, BABY applesauce is a great first food. Be sure to follow the doctor's instructions as to how to introduce solid food. Some other great firsts are bananas ( Baby ones, pureed) and pears.

Yes, usually around 4 months you introduce cereal, then vegies or fruit puree but applesauce is fine ( without sugar I am assuming)

It's best to wait until 6 months. Applesauce isn't one of the foods that babies usually have allergies too, so it should be okay.

introducing sweet to a 4 month baby is not a good thing, give her or him some vegetable based foods to start up with, try to prevent most of the sicknesses that we bring on to ourselves at an early age by teaching your kid good eating habbit at a goung age.

The latest recommendation is to not give babies anything other than breastmilk or formula until they're 6 months old.

Yes, if he/she pushes it out of his/her mouth it does not mean that he she does not like it. It only means that he/she if not ready to swallow solids. (anything that is pured or sauce is considered a solid) Wait a week and try again.
