Here's my 5 must haves for a romantic dinner. Mind you that these are more intentionally used as an aphrodisiac guaranteeing a trip to the sack. This is effective though. 1. Salad w/ alotta brocolli 2. Oysters on the shell 3. Dried figs and prunes 4. Grilled Tuna 5. The most important: Chocolate covered strawberries These are NOT a personal favorite of mine but when you go with this combination, the endorphins are high, the mood increases, your energy is replenished and your ready for some after dinner *cough*. Prepare the food exactly this way. It's what i prescribe to some couples.

Something that always works for me when I have been away for periods of time is that when get home !!!!

since i have had to travel long distances the first thing is a hot bath "BUBBLE BATH"

We have a large tub so that works out well for us both.

Then there is the dinner she has spent the day working on, it is usually steak, potatos, salad,
and as always very cold Apple Cider in champain (spl) glasses, and of course by candle light.

We have no children they are all grown and gone .

When we finish eatingwe retire to the bedroom where there is soft music, dim lights , sometimes she will rub my back first or I hers,

I do massages so that helps out .

But the very best part after the loving is to get up ,make popcorn, pepsi, and a candy bar in front of a movie of some sort.

And you know the best is that she is blind and I get to hold her clos eand describe what is happening on the screen.

Once we sat down to a movie called
THE NOTEBOOK, with James Garner and ? it is about a man who falls in love with a girl they marry and all through their relationship he keeps a noebook about their live , anyway she developes alzhiemers and end up in a hospital.

I will not ruin the plot for you but you might want to try the movie.

REMEMBER ONE THING!!

The memories you create together today will be the one that hold you together through the hard times.

create some happy ones for tommorrow
and good luck.

Life is too good to waste it.
Something you may try is prayer , that is the first thing we do each day.

Even when we had been apart awhile.

GOOD LUCK

Depends on how good a cook you are and what you and your hubby like to eat. Don't try to get too complicated by cooking something beyond your skill level. Something as simple as baked chicken, mashed potatoes, and steamed yellow squash can be romantic if you add the right touches. Lay out a table cloth, use the 'good' dishes, and light a few candles. Play soft music, jazz if he likes it. Pick an inexpensive but decent wine to go with your meal. Serve a yummy dessert that doesn't take lots of work, like mini ice cream sandwiches with chocolate syrup, whipped cream, nuts, and cherries. Most important of all, don't stress yourself out about it. If you try something difficult and it doesn't go well, your mood will be anything but romantic. Also, if you have time, try out the recipe *before* you serve it to him. Then you can see what does and doesn't work and modify the recipe to better suit your tastes.

Chicken Fried Steak with Cracked Black Pepper Gravy

4 tenderized beef cutlets
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
all-purpose flour
canola oil, enough to fill up to at least a 1/2 inch of the pan
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon of cayenne
1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper

Beat together the egg and milk and set aside. Mix together the salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder and cayenne and season on both sides of beef cutlets then add the remainder to the flour.

Heat the cooking oil in a large cast-iron or other heavy skillet over medium-high heat for a few minutes. Oil should be about a half-inch deep in the pan. Check the temperature with a drop of water, if it pops and spits back at you, it's ready.

Dredge the cutlets in the flour, shaking off the excess. Then dip each cutlet in the egg/milk mixture, and then back in the flour.
Carefully place each cutlet into the hot oil. Fry cutlets on both sides, turning once, until golden brown. Remove from heat. Drain cutlets. You now should have a lovely tender medium chicken fried steak

Cracked black pepper Gravy
After the cutlets are removed from the pan, pour off all but about 2 tablespoons of oil, keeping as many as possible of the browned bits in the pan. Heat the oil over medium heat until hot.
Sprinkle 3 tablespoons flour (use the left-over flour from the chicken fried steak recipe (You weren’t gonna throw that goodness away now were you?) in the hot oil. Stir, quickly, to brown the flour.
Gradually stir in 2 1/2 cups milk and stirring constantly with a whisk and whisking out any lumps. (You can cheat and use a emersion blender if you have one ) Lower heat, and gravy will begin to thicken. Continue cooking and stirring a few minutes until gravy almost reaches desired thickness. It’s gonna thicken more as it sits. Check seasonings and add more salt and cracked pepper according to taste. Add more milk if it gets too thick.

This is simple, but very tasty.

open faced chicken cordon bleu

chicken breast
deli ham
Swiss cheese

cook the chicken breast ( i use a grill pan and season the chicken with a little grill seasoning) Cook chicken through..I like to get them gold brown on both sides.

Once chicken is cooked transfer chicken to a baking dish...top with ham and swiss
bake until cheese is melted and ham is heated.

I usually serve this with a rice pilaf (zataran's makes a really good one) and steamed broccoli.

I've made this several times for my husband and he really liked it.
ENJOY!

what are some of his favorite meals? Try making them with different variations, life if he likes meatlof, fix it in heart-shaped individual pans, and serve with garlic mashed potatoes and a salad. Serve the dinner outdoors on the patio with lots of candlelight. Just make it special in little ways that show how much he means to you, that will impress him more than going all out and overworking yourself for something that he might be too tired to enjoy.

Strawberries and Champagne (for desert). Something simple for dinner like a steak, baked potato and salad. That way you will not have to spend hours in the kitchen and will be able to spend more time on yourself (long bath, body lotion, perfume, etc.). You might melt some really good chocolate to dip the strawberries in. It should be sensuous and fun.

Well, candles are the first thing that pop into my mind when I think romantic dinner. Beyond that, it varies from person to person. What is his favorite food? If you can make it, I'm sure it would mean a lot to him. If not, I think pasta always looks elegant, but use short noodles to cut down on the not so romantic slurping. Good luck!

I like to make home made maccaroni and cheese. The sauce can be a little tricky, but it's well worth it. If you're looking for ideas, try AllRecipes.com. They have a recipe for just about anything and you can look up a recipe by meal catagory (lunch, dinner, dessert, etc.) and by main ingredient.

Is he is a macho man's man(steak and potatoes!! my favorite), a homely mommas boy type (meatloaf or shake and bake pork chops) or a sophisticated, progressive type (Sushi, Thai, or French) As a man that's married I would call his mom and get the downlow on what he really likes and how to make it.
