I am looking to decorate my bedroom with an asian theme. I like the colors black/gold/tan/burgundy(garnet). I want to use my window as somewhat of a backdrop but can't figure out the right window treatment. Window is a standard aparment 48"x52" with the generic blinds. Any suggestions

Paint one wall in the room garnet and frame some of you favorite photos in gold frames(at least 8x10") and group them in a 3-4' square on the garnet wall.
Paint the remaining walls a light, muted avacado green and have at least one Gold edged mirror on this wall. You can get 5' mirrors very cheap and paint them if you are on a budget.
Some elephant accessories would be nice. Large ones. Also a large, black vase. You can get bamboo that is on paper to decorate with too.Any dark wood tones in the mahogany would go nice with your burgandy on your bed and pillows.

For your window, make a valance and cover it in a nice black fabric. Get curtains that are matching and go to the floor. They will frame your blinds and make them pop. Buy 2 gold tassles for both curtains and use as tie backs or accents.

On your burgandy bedspread, use different colored pillows. Use an orange one, a gold one, and a black one. Buy small gold tassles for the pillows and attach them to each corner. If you have a headboard you can paint on, paint it black and trim it with a gold paint pen.
Finish off with a nice Asian throw rug.

many places, such as home depot, sell blinds that look like bamboo (i just saw some 2 days ago). you should be able to find curtains that have a coral (or ocean flowers) print on them. many designers are using coral in asian design. i would suggest looking for black one's with burgundy coral. if you don't know what i'm talking about, go to the store and pick up almost any design magazine and they will have an example of the print.

If you're doing Asian, be sure to check out Feng Shui information about placement and colors. I'd get library books as a starter.

Use a bamboo shade or rice paper roman shade. The rice paper provides a soft, diffused light when the sun shines through it.

keep it ordinary, obviously. Black, pink and gold are strong ordinary colorations to commence with. Use a mild timber in case you do -- such as a bamboo color. Will the headboard bypass up antagonistic to the black wall? that must be very dramatic, i imagine! have relaxing!!
