No, satan is a myth created by early religious and political leaders to control the masses through fear.
The concept of satan is ridiculous, spiritually speaking. It implies that there is some war that God could possibly lose. What do you believe in? An omnipotent God or one that could lose a war with a being he created? There is nothing that God cannot be, do or have, except to not be.

Very good question!!! But sorry to say that it is a vague question. Vague for me means your question will lead to an answer that requires more question and more answers & so on & so forth.
Do you really know Satan?
Great businesses such as GE or Microsoft of Bill Gates is very successful in business because they cater to the needs of their customers & would be customers. That means they studied first the needs of consumers & based on that needs or wants they go to making a product that will make their consumers happy & contented.
In same way, in order to absolutely answer your question, we or you should understand the true identity of satan in order to understand God's & Jesus situation.
In order to win a customer or in order to win with satan's temptation, it's the same thing, study or analyze your customer's needs or study & analyze satan.
If you just go to a business without studying the needs of consumers, your business will not last long.
If you just leave everything & hears advises but will not study satan, then you can't have defenses against his attack! (temptation)
So therefore, go to http//www.familyfed.org, go to education icon, & find the chapter THE FALL OF MAN to fully know the identity of satan.
have a good surfing!!!

No! We are tempted by satan to see if we will open ourselves to him and to turn away from God. God gave man the choice to seek Him and His glory,or to choose satan and his ungodly ways.

God does not lead us to be tempted. Our flesh leads us that way.
We pray "lead us not into temptation" meaning that we pray He will keep us from it.
