Mine was beige/off white. I always wanted a red one, but that might have been a bit much! I applaud your choice of red walls. I loved mine!!! Granite would look great, too.

More importantly - what goes with your cabinets, backsplash, and floor, if you don't plan on changing it. You can always re-paint.
Also, we don't know the shade of red. Warm or cool?
If I had to work with this colour combo unknowing of the floor, I would suggest to you look at the Formica "stone" colours - the slates, the granites. Those have many mixes of colour that you could hopefully find a match with. I have much luck with "Colorado Slate", "Alaskan Slate", "Rosso Granite". This last one actually has a nice medium red right in it. Also, try the WilsonArt High Definition laminates - those are also very nice. With luck, you'll find something that works perfectly for you.
Hope this helps!

It's really personal taste! I don't care for Oak's excessive graininess. It gives a very 'Country' feel and I'm not a County girl. Because the world went Oak crazy there is a lot of cheap oak cabinets out there. Go to a home improvement store and compare yours with more expensive Oak cabinets to see what you have. If you have expensive cabinets it is probably best to keep them for resale value. If they are junkie looking Oak, paint them! It is a matter of taste as to whether you like Oak or not and would prefer covering it up!

A black granite look would be gorgeous. I bought new counter top a few months ago at Menard's and it is black with specks of brown and other colors. It is laminate but looks like granite! My cabinets are a dark Cherry color and my kitchen is a taupe color but I have it decorated in some reds and blacks and browns. I wish I would have painted one wall red or at least the wall behind the counter top.

I think a light yellow would be pretty with the red walls. You could go with a fruit or flower theme, like for curtains and wall pictures, basket of fruit or sequined fruit in red, yellow & other colors, Color is in. If you use tile, I would trim the edge with matching wood of the cabinets.

Wow, what a combination. Maybe a light tan with dark wood accents around the edges. Good luck.

I think black or a deep tan would look very rich. You might try getting paint sample cards and counter top samples to find the perfect combination for your taste.

I would think a cream color or tan would match the red walls.

Anything with graphite or grey flakes in it, as long as there was a bit of red or burgundy flaked too. Otherwise, I would pick a marble with lots of grey.
