the atheist because he more than likely still has a desire to continue learning, so would be up on the latest medical technology, where the christian would assume he learned all there is and is done

You seem to be an atheist, given your examples... I don't believe in God either, but Christianity is a religion and a belief by a person. A doctor is suppose to live up to the same principals as any doctor when it comes to saving a person's life. There is a code of conduct for doctors that should be the same for a doctor of whatever belief. A Muslim doctor would not let a Christian man die only because he is Christian, his profession and reason for being a doctor tells him he must save that man...
With that said, I would choose an atheist doctor... :)

Actually any real doctor's ethic will be to first cause no harm. Personal ethics would be pushed aside (or should be) and the wishes of the patient and/or the patients family should come before that of any doctor.
A doctor who would leave a patients health strictly in the hands of god wouldn't be a doctor..they would be a Christian Scientist.
An Atheist doctor will not dismiss the power of prayer in terms of mind over matter.
A Christian ( or otherwise) will simply encourage prayer along with medical treatment...not leave it to one or the other.
There are too many generalisations in your question. You assume too much about both Christians and Atheists.

I would trust the doctor who had the most knowledge about my condition. Just because a doc is a christian doesnt mean that he would refuse to "interfere" with your calling. Im a paramedic, and also a christian, and i've never considered my faith as a prerequisite to the treatment I give. If a patient is dying, then I will do everything in my power to save their life. End of discussion....and that was a really stupid question. By putting a blanket statement on people, it shows just how ignorant you really are.

Well, Ummm....clearly you have pigeon holed people into nice little compartments, haven't you? I do not care if my doctor is a Christian or not a Christian or an Atheist or whatever----I care that he is intelligent and if he is my primary, that he have a good 'bedside manner'. If he is a surgeon---who cares about the bedside manner---just be the best.
Christian doctors do not simply throw out science and good medicine....at least any GOOD Christian doctor does not. I would find it hard to believe that many would make it through medical school with an attitude like, "If it's his time, it's his time. I refuse to interfere." I would also think that their patient load would diminish quite quickly. Here in the US doctors grow their base via word of mouth----if you are a horrible doctor, word gets around pretty quickly......Christian, Buddhist, Arab or whatever....

I'm sure both doctors would be professional and take every life seriously and go by their oath to "first do no harm".
Letting someone die is doing them harm.
Neither would be preferable to the other.
Christians understand the sanctity of life. Hello, look at their stances on euthanasia and abortion.
Maybe an Atheist would say, life sucks anyway, who cares if he lives or dies, it makes no difference?
I'm just playing devils advocate to this question and don't prefer Christian over Atheist, but your logic is very questionable.

A Christian doctor might say, "Maybe God is calling him, I should let him die" or "He is my 'neighbour', and I would want my life saved were I in his place"
An Atheist doctor might say, I" have to save his one and only life" or "This guys doesn't have insurance, so I don't have to save his life."
A Christian doctor might say, "If it's his time, it's his time. I refuse to interfere" or "If it is his time, he will die whether I interfere or not, so it is better that I do my best in case it is not."
An Atheist doctor might say, "It's up to me if this guy lives or dies. I must save him." or "It's up to this guy dying for me to 'comfort' his young pretty wife.'
A Christian doctor might say, Maybe praying will work better.. or 'I'll pray that God will not allow me to make mistakes so with his help I can save this life.'
An Atheist doctor might say, There has to be a way to save his life or "Oops."

Not all Christian doctors are this way nor all atheist. We Catholics actually believe that we are supposed to trust doctors and that their skills come from God. Fundamentalists may have different opinions however as they left that particular book of the Bible out of their version. I would however probably choose the Catholic doctor as he or she would know what particular practices or treatments the average Catholic is against. That and the Catholic doctor would be treating me and praying. It is a winning combination.

What an Atheist doctor "may say" or a Christian doctor "may say" according to you? Hopefully they'd "both" have the same ethics. If I had to choose, I'd go with the Christian doctor just because.

Read the bible! Jesus HEALED people, and RAISED them from the dead! Over and over again in scripture, it says that it is not God's will for people to be sick or hurting. Yes, people get sick and hurt in this world, but its not what God wants for people. I'd be pretty freaked out if a Christian doctor said that he should let someone die. Most Christians I know are pretty all about life, because thats how our God is.

Well first the Christian doctor may not necessarily act the way you present in your question. Very unlikely, in fact.
Second, I wouldn't care what religion the doctor was. As long as he or she knows what they are doing and their credentials check out. And even then if I were dying or bleeding profusely their credentials would be the last thing on my mind, let alone their spiritual path or lack thereof.
