This is a complex problem and unless the government applies rather forceful measures, there is no easy answer. But I believe the problem has a history with the Border Patrol not doing a good job, perhaps by corruption. My first thought would be imprisonment and hard labor as a deterent, If we can seize assets of drug dealers, then let's seize whatever paltry possessions they have and boot them across the border. They enter the US with the thoughts of gaining monetary rewards and because most are virtually illiterate find nothing to earn the money they expected. So we have gangs, robberies and now even a second language in the US. I lived in Florida for a time and one day I went to the laundromat...damned washing machine broke down on a Sunday...there were 11 cars in the parking lot...as I waited impatiently for the dryer to finish, I walked around....9 cars had expired license plates...I was the only white person there. The others were all Mexicans. I later asked one of the Highway Patrolmen why they weren't stopped. He replied that most officers didn't speak Spanish and it was just too much work! So, it seems that people don't want to do anything to solve the problem...let it slide because they don't speak Spanish...but when did Spanish become the language of the US? Another complication is the migratory habits of the illegals following the ripening crops, from Florida for strawberries to Georgia for peaches and so on. It is difficult for the police to keep track of anyone. Most of the Mexican cars were registered in Ohio and Michigan? Perhaps the registration laws there are more lax? It would be interesting to learn the number of illegals that were arrested in Florida...remember that Jeb Bush is going to make an attempt for presidency.

The best way to "oust" them is not over the fence to the other side but by tossing them a hand of friendship and keeping them on this side of the boarded.
If you decide to arrest such a great throng of people, you'll go broke and get harmed in the process.
Consider the cost in extra police, expanded holding pens, transportation, deportation hearings and the like... it's an outrageous amount when you're looking at more than ten million illegals. And think, too, of the "cost" of taking other actions against them ... it can only lead to an increase in crime if we pressures them any more than they are already pressured economically.
Speaking reasonably, "ousting" is completely out of the question... We must, instead, find a fair and affordable solution that eventually leads to citizenship, ( Actually, the sooner the better.)
We don't need to "oust" and we cant afford to continue to play "host" ... we need to keep them here, keep them peaceful, keep them employed and collect taxes from them as legals. We also need to accept them as decent human beings rather than pointing out how terribly unlawful they've been... quit bad-mouthing them - such a peaceful, hardworking group of people as these are.
Believe it or not, we have some new kids on the block... and they're gunna stay. We'd better make the best of it....

When you find out let our U.S. Gov know about that. Well, it is kinda to late for that. Because you see alot of documented immigrants are allowing the undocumented immigrants in. And there not telling where they are or how there getting here. But i will say this, if you came from a country that had almost nothing and then come to the usa. wouldn't you want to stay too? On the other hand, if they come here illegally then i think they all should go. and not just people from mexico either.. germans, russians..... U.K. you know what i mean !!! Our social services is only gonna hold up for so long. For all of those who don't work ( all races) and don't put in the system. there doing nothing but draining our country dry.

closed the border of course! but u know america was built on the back of illegal immigrants! and also u know that the government really wants immigrants here for the cheap labor that americans are too lazy to do. immigrants arent bad but yea there are probably too many illegal ones. and this is coming from the opinion of a mexican-american who's family has been in this country from 75 years. oh and i dont think u can convince them not to come back! but can u blame them? there just looking for a better life that ur family was looking for years ago when the came to this country! oh and let me ask u a question, why do caucasion people think this country is only theres? like they've been here forever or something. Unless ur a native american indian, this isnt ur country either.

The reality is that we don't have an "Illegal Immigration" problem in America. We have an "Illegal Employer" problem.
Yet it's almost never mentioned in the mainstream media, because to point it out could slightly reduce the profits and CEO salaries of many of America's largest multi-state and multinational corporations - who both own the media and contribute heavily to conservative politicians. Republicans would prefer that the "criminals" covered in the press are working people, and that corporate and CEO criminals not get discussed.
The magnet drawing them? Illegal Employers.
Yet in the American media, Illegal Employers are almost never mentioned.
Fifty years ago we didn't have an "illegal immigration" problem, because back then we didn't have a conservative "Illegal Employer" problem.
The hiring crimes of Illegal Employers are being ignored by the law, and rewarded by the economic systems of the nation.
When it comes to the immigration bill, the Senate and the House of Representatives disagree with one another about what should be done on the issue of illegal immigration.
Many in the House of Representatives favor strengthening security at the borders, including building a seven-hundred-mile fence along the border with Mexico to help keep illegal immigrants from entering the United States, and they favor deporting immigrants who are already in the United States illegally.
Many in the Senate favor strengthening security at the borders, including building a three-hundred-and-seventy-mile fence along the border with Mexico to help keep illegal immigrants from entering the United States, and they favor a guest worker program to allow illegal immigrants who have jobs and who have been here for more than two years to remain in the United States.
Which of these approaches would you prefer?
Only the CNN poll asked the question: "Would you favor increasing penalties for employers who hire illegal immigrants?" Two-thirds of Americans, of all party affiliations, said, "Yes," but it went virtually unreported in mainstream media coverage.
"Illegal Immigration" is really about "Illegal Employers." As long as Democrats argue it on the basis of "illegal immigration" they'll lose, even when they're right. Instead, they need to be talking about "Illegal Employers."
Politically, it's not a civil rights issue, it's a jobs issue, as working Americans keep telling pollsters over and over again.
"Mass deportations" and "Fences" are hysterics and false choices.
Start penalizing "Illegal Employers" and non-citizens without a Social Security number will leave the country on their own. And they won't have to confront death trying to cross the desert back into Mexico - Mexican citizens can simply walk back into Mexico across the border at any legal border crossing (as about a million did every year for over a century).
Easy, simple, cheap, painless. No fence required. No mass deportations necessary. No need for Homeland Security to get involved. When jobs are not available, most undocumented workers will simply leave the country (as they always did before), or begin the normal process to obtain citizenship that millions go through each year.
Now even Bush is talking like the Republicans in the House of Representatives - time to "get tough" and give Halliburton a few hundred billion to build a fence.
But still nobody is talking about the real problem here - the Illegal Employers.

There must be plenty of ways but don't the vast majority of Americans feel sure that the most pressing issue is: Plugging-up the pipelines of aliens pouring-in daily? By the time our 'leaders' agree on 'How to' oust those already here there may be another 12 to 20 million more. Let us be concerned about plugging the leaks...whatever it takes.

There are no undocumented immigrants, (immigrant shows a legal status) there are alot of illegal aliens living in the US.
We merely start putting people who hire them in jail for 6 months, best when there are no jobs not only will they not come but they will also go home

One of the greatest things around is to come to a country and be able support your family with a decent wage. If you went to Mexico and worked down there you would be screaming to come back here. As long as Mexico is in a repressive state there will always be immigrants. Just like it was in East Germany during the war. Do you want to be their dictator and demand that they leave. My immigrant friend Jesus, makes very little. He has a beautiful family that loves him and he works so hard. Nooo I can't see it. They are our neighbors, friends, and people who will do the job you or others won't do. Until Mexico becomes unpoverished we will have to make do.

Make employers pay aliens a higher wage. Most would suddenly start looking citizens and the demand for foreign labor would drop. Announce the anyone here illegally in 2007 will never be allowed to apply for citizenship, never mind amnesty. When it's harder to find unskilled jobs, and there will be a dramatically different immigration movement.

I assume you're only qualified to run a lawn mower (in which case they're taking all your jobs) so this question strikes close to home for you. I'll try to explain it as simply as I can. There are jobs here. Your fat *** can't do them well enough/cheap enough and neither can your morbidly obese/lazy relatives. So companies in the US have to hire other people who aren't yourself or your morbidly obese/lazy relatives. Their best option happens to be illegal immigrants. I suggest you write a stern letter to all of the Fortune 500 companies, and then the rest of the companies in the US for that matter. See if they care to listen to you any more than your fat ex wife or your estranged children do.
also try:
Keep reproducing and dumbing down America's collective IQ; maybe the illegals won't want to come after a while.
