I know how to open tabs, but when it opens it opens behind the other tabbed pages (in the background) and I have to click on the tab to show the page, and it's just a hastle. I want to know how to set it so that the new tabs show up in front by default.

Hi,

Go to Tools, Options, Tabs.

Check or uncheck "Select new tabs opened from links."

To "select" a tab means to have it be the one you see when you click the link.

That should do it.

Select new tabs opened from links

When you middle-click on Web links (or hold down CtrlCmd while clicking
with the left mouse button), the links will be opened in a new tab. That tab
will not be shown directly; it will be loaded in a background tab. Check
this option preference to load the link in a foreground tab instead, which
will show that tab directly.

Install the extension on this page:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/158/

It's called Tabbrowser Preferences. Adjust the settings and it should work.
