Its a sin. All procedures that have the expressed intent and purpose of sterilization are considered immoral. Some medical procedures result in sterilization but they are not undertaken for that purpose (such as certain types of cancer treatments) and are considered to be moral.

The vasectomy would also be considered a case of mutilation of the body, which is also a sin against God.

I am Catholic, but I've never exactly heard of vasectomy in particular being discussed. I would assume since the church is so pro-life, that any act such as this (unless it were induced due to a medical necessity) would be frowned upon. Unless they were a priest, maybe? I really don't know.

I think Catholicism is against all forms of birth control including vasectomy.A real Catholic is to abstain from sex if not married in the church and sex is only for procreation, they have classes on planned parenthood in the church ,I think it has to do with cycle sex ,check it out don't damage your temple ok your body is not yours to do what you want with it

I'm not Catholic, but I'm guessing they would be against it. I think its wonderful if a man wants one.
