Just off the cuff here, but I am guessing that if you get yourself deported, you would spend time in jail, or the equivalent, leading up to the actual flight out. And there may be legal fees on the other end. I would say buying a ticket would be better for cost and hassle factor.

Well in theory yea, but sometimes the government that deports you back might send you a bill to pay for all the expenses, which would cost more than to buy a ticket, and also you may not be able to visit that country again.

You wont be able to leave the US. My cousin bought a one way ticket to NZ and was detained in LA for 5 hrs and had to buy a return. Then he got to NZ and didnt have the proper Visa and was deported.

No, you would most likely be deported at your own expense. This would be in the paper-work that you would have to sign and may be legally binding.

Sure. But you might spend a couple weeks (or more) in a pretty scary jail before they send you home!
