i am a lifetime member of the DAVA as the daughter of a disabled navy vet. there are few jobs open for civilians that aren't a member. the adjutant is appointed on chapter, state, and national levels. the adjutant is a member of the DAV or DAVA (men's/women's). the adjtant as well is voted on yearly.

I don't think the Disable american Veterans is limited to just military personnel since it is a volunteer organization. At the very least, whatever job listing you are replying to would indicate whether or not you needed a military background.

Sure why not? There are plenty of civilians that work in the Pentagon and most military bases.

All VET organizations that I am aware of are staffed by vets.
