What you are doing is pretty safe. The pill has a 96% effectiveness rate, condoms are around 84%. I'm not certain about the spermicides but they might be equal to or have less effectiveness as the condoms.

And what that other person said about pills decreasing a woman's sex drive over time? I've never heard of any legitimate studies about that. A woman usually reaches her sexual peak in her early 30's.

Yes you can be safer,as you know the safest thing to do is not to have sex at all,but it looks like it's to late for that.By you saying we can't afford to make a mistake, but we also want to have sex, just by saying but leaves a lot of room for mistakes. There is always the chance that the condom could brake so you have to be extra careful.I would suggest that you don't use thin condoms, even though you get a better feel they brake easily.I know you want to trust her and it is good if you do,but even though she is on the pill she could forget to take it,it does happen so don't assume that she took it.You always, always have to ask her if she did or not.She may not be pleased about you asking that, she may even get mad because she might think you don't trust her.It might even kill the mood, but you can't worry about that. It is always better to be safe than sorry.Children are a very big responsibility, whether your ready for them or not.If you too love and trust each other,it should be easy for yo to talk about it and ask questions of each other so that you both have a clear understanding of how each other feels.

well heck u should be all good but if u really want to be safe again tell her to use rhythm method count 14 days from 1st day of period.. this is ovulation day meaning she can get pregnant .. a bad day then u count 4 days before this 14rth day and 4 days after the 14rth day to make a safety net.. this is called rhythm method and worked for me for a long long time without any of the things u use.. ovulation days is when u feel a higher temperature and eggs are released to be mated with..as far as heartbroken goes with the territory no matter if ur 18 or 28 etc better that then having a kid grow up without a parent.

There are always the risks no matter what you do. I can't think of anything to be any safer

Not safe at all--- you're at risk of having your heart broken. Premarital sex can ruin your life.
