Like the poor sailor in Pirates of Penzance.... do you move your birthdate to March 1 or February 28? Do you list it as 2/28 and then only celebrate it every four years (you would be the only 4 year old with a driver's license)

Your legal birthday would be on Feb. 29Th of what ever year you were born in. The day you celebrate it is totally up to you the law does recognizes leap year births so when you have lived 18 regular years you will be legally 18

The realistic thing to do is celebrate your birthday on the 28th of February or March 1st... but stick to that date... you will still get older either way.... saying your 4 or counting the age has just been a "funny" thing to say because it only happens every four years... you could pretend to be that "funny" age (which no one would believe anyway) but be careful whatever you put on your ID trying to be funny the stores or where ever may make you stick to that age... not that I wouldn't like to be 8 lol but anyway... it would kinda make for an interesting conversation getting pulled over and the cop is wondering why you have the DL of an 6 year old... lol

I don't know why you posted this question, under etiquette, but if a person is born in February during Leap Year, it's geneally on the 29th. Consequently, they officially don't turn one more year in age, unitl the next leap year- leap is approximately every 4 to 8 years. You could celebrate on Feb 28, but in terms of your birth certifcate, your birthday is really still Feb 29. Thank God, my birth was not in February.

My daughter was born February 29,2004 but since she was born closer to the 28th the doctor put her birthday as February 28th. I am going to let her choose how she wants to celebrate her birthday when she gets older, but for now its on the 28th. When leap year does come again I am sure we will celebrate it on the 29th :).

You celebrate it on the last day of February. My younger sister was born 8 years before me.

Well, my cousin was born on leap year. He says to everybody that he was born on Feb. 29, but he celebrates it on feb. 28. We tease him by saying that he's 8 when he is really 32.

People born on Feb. 29th (leap day) only will live 25% of a normal life expectancy. Usually they will only live about 20 years.

Wouldn't you have to wait for march 1st for it to be a complete year. If you were turning 21 I bet you would not get served alcohol until March 1st. If they served you on the 28th technically you would still be under age.

There are 366 days in a leap year, so most people born in a leap year would be born on dates that occur every year.
