When people get plastic surgery, such as a nose job, is it possible for their kid to get the same nose that they have after the surgery? I know that so many people are getting their wisdom teeth removed nowadays, that some kids are born without them, but I thought your DNA would still be the same therefore the kids would still get what they had changed or removed.

No. Your DNA is in every cell of your body, and the only way for your kid to inherit anything is to change the DNA of the gametes (eggs & sperm). A nose job is an artificial change, and artificial, acquired traits like this do not get inherited, because they leave no genetic imprint to be passed on.

The disappearance of wisdom teeth only incidentally relates to having them removed. They aren't disappearing *because* they are being removed, but they share the same cause: our jaws have shrunk over time, and they aren't able to fit in most mouths anymore and thus grow improperly, causing many problems, the least of which is a lot of pain. Before surgical dentistry was as big or as safe as it is today, there was a strong selective pressure for mutations which eliminated wisdom teeth, as those with wisdom teeth may have been more likely to die, if only slightly, either due to the teeth or to the unsafe surgery back then.

But note that evolution doesn't actively 'weed out' unncessary things... there has to be a disadvantage to having that unneccessary thing.

Seriously, no, surgery does not change your DNA. Wisdom teeth are on the decline because evolution dictates that we don't need them as much anymore; thousands of years ago, teeth were like tools for man, and were used for survival, not just to eat, but to cut and shred materials for building tools, weapons, shelter, etc... As such, man was very hard on their teeth, and their teeth wore down. Wisdom teeth grew in during puberty or around 20yrs old, which was considered mid life to replace any teeth that may have been damaged or lost and to strengthen the bite. Now that humans don't live that way anymore, fewer people are being born with them.

Nothing changes your DNA. The wisdom teeth thing is a genetic mutation propogating itself in the gene pool. It's either purely random, or nature no longer has a use for those teeth, so they are being weeded out. But not because people are having them removed.
That would be like saying that breast sizes have increased over the last 50 years (which they have) because women are getting implants. Not at all the case. The two just happen to be coinciding at the moment. One does not necessarily cause the other.

Your DNA will be the same throughout your entire life. The DNA that you pass on to your offspring will not change because of surgery. Of course, if you were to receive an organ from a donor, you would have an organ with DNA that is different from your own, and there is a rare condition where one person can have similar but different DNA in their body depending on where the sample is taken.

Surgery does not change the DNA. Kids will get he same kind of nose that you had when you were young.

Having surgery does not change your DNA. DNA can mutate by exposure to environmental hazards ie radiation-xrays-etc. Having breast implants will not allow you to have children with larger breasts. I am intrigued by the comment that you made about children born without wisdom teeth. Where do you get your information?

Surgury does nothing to alter you DNA, not plastic surgery, not dental work, it is just by chance if a kid doesnt grow wisdom teeth(they probly have them, they just grew in without a problem)
