My 3 year old Son Christian hates butter, the smell of it makes him gag and sometimes vomit. He even screams on the top of his lungs when butter is around even when i buy it. Will he grow out of this, does he really hate it or is he just convinsed that he HATES it? Does or anyone had this problem.

Unless he had some terrifying dream about butter attacking him I'm sure he will just grow out of it. He's probably tasted it once, or smelled it and he decided he didn't like it. My son convinced himself he hates a lot of things without even trying it. Don't worry!!
Best wishes

I'm 18 and scared of butter, but that's mainly because it's a dairy product (which is scary due to the lack of regulations on the dairy industry in the US), chock full of cholesterol, and will solidify in my arteries as easily as it does in the fridge.

to be honest not butter but water. My son was petrified of water and anything involving he would scream and throw horrible fits for bath time. Now, he loves it and he asks.

and our 11 yr old was afraid of cheese, but now he is starting to love pizza!

But, what a child therapist had said to me was "water"or "cheese" was just something they chose to displace something else that happened.

for the "water" it was a fear of closed spaces and falling

for the "cheese" he got sick at a younger age at someone else's and that was the last thing he remembered eating before he got real sick.

I would check into the why. good luck.

Does he have any allergies to dairy? Does he have an issue with touching things the same consistencey of butter (oily, creamy, what not?) Maybe the fat is hard for him to digest... does he react this way to margerine etc.

maybe he really hates butter. or maybe he had a bad butter-related experience u don't know about. is it the same thing with margerine? try to find out, but in the meantime, give him toast with jelly next time.

omg...haha...this is weird...as a child I was also scared of butter! It just disgusted me. I never wanted to look at it or touch it...it's slimey and tastes so nasty by itsself. It think that's what did it...I tried it by itsself.
I wouldn't eat butter til I got pregnant at 20...

hmmm thats interesting. I used to be scared of popcorn when I was a toddler; I thought they were little creatures LOL!
I have always hated eggs, though, and I still do.
I think he probably had a bad dream and somehow associates it with butter.
Remember, kids his age can't seperate imagination and reality, so whatever they dream or think about is true to their perspective.
