Ask people where your car was parked if they saw who towed your car. If there are no witnesses, call the police department if they towed your car. If not, then go to the parking areas where towed cars are impounded.

What I always do, when my car disappears, is call and report it stolen. That gets everything off on the right foot. Then the police department has to contact me about their investigation of the theft. If they took it, they will get back to you very quickly, advising you that THEY towed it, where it is, etc. If they didn't, you'll get that much more jump on the thieves.

Are you sure your car has been towed away by the police? If it is, then call the police dept. They have the network. My fear is that your car may have been repossessed by the finance company.

...if the answer to either of the above is no, then you may want to report it stolen.
