Unfortunately it went the way of the 8-Track. I remember the wax "soda bottles" with the teaspoon of juice in it. Black Jack gum Bazooka that cost a penny & was twice as large and twice as hard as the current Bazooka! Cracker Jacks with a real prize not a paper joke!

The price of sugar and oil for gasoline went up. So did the prices. I still remember stopping at the neighborhood grocery store on my way home and getting three Chinese candies the size of a jaw breaker for a nickel(1973).

Here in Chicago you can get all of that and more at a number of wholesale stores along the Dan Ryan at 71st. But they don't cost a penny anymore. ;)
