I stopped asking myself that question YEARS ago, but the only theory I have, and since women keep that secret to themselves, is that the one thing ******* have that us nice guys don't have:
AGGRESIVENESS!
Women LOVE it when they are with a guy who is take charge and most ******* are either arrogant or ego maniac, self-centered pricks. But they are fun to be around with.
This is attractive to women who are young and want to be around the guy who lives day to day, rather than be with a man who thinks in long-terms. To them, and ****** gives them a sense of security. An ****** can be very assertive and get what they want, take crap from no one, and take risks (that's the key). Sorry dude, but that's the way things are built.
Over time, when a woman get's older and their breast and butts don't look good as they used to be, they want to settle with the nice guy and with good reason: The ******* don't want them. They like them fresh and young. The nice guy, who vested his time, planned his future and has a career locked in, is very attractive to the flabby breasted girl. Ads and Dis-Ads my friend. Nice guys? We are not a mystery or a challange. We are predictable and easy to read.
A challanging man doesn't say much and does what he wants without a womans' approval. Now, it's not to say that there are men out there who can balance that. You can be a nice guy, but let them know who is in charge. Comprimise, but don't give in and know when she's testing you, just so she can get a sense that your on top of things, but know when to give her enough room for the things she wants.
It's a learning process.

That's funny you ask that because I was just wondering why the **** I am in the relationship that I am in. In the beginning they set off a very confident aura about themselves. They are always charming etc. It takes time to find out someone is an asshole. And more often than not, THAT is when it's hard to leave them because a connection has already been established. The chick won't stay with the dude forever...time tells all. It's just hard to find a nice guy that isn't TOO nice or that doesn't seem pathetic or smothering. If a guy could be respectful AND confident...nice guys wouldn't finish last all the time.

you know, im a girl and alot of times i ask the same question about guys : why are they attracted to ugly girls or stupid ones? i guess the answer is maybe we are referring to the person we like, and we feel that we are better than any person they are attracted to. of course, sometimes the ****** factor is obvious, but hey, different people, different likes. your person should be out there somewhere :))

It all depends on your definition of being a ******* ! If you said that the guys is this and that, then we would have some thing concrete to deal with

Because most assholes also have other traits, eg Confidence, Arrogance, Sometimes humor, and some would argue that they are more masculine, since they speak their minds. They also might seem like the human equivalant of an "Alpha Male."

every guy i have ever dated was an "******" and i didnt know they were ******* until after we started dating and we'd been together for a few weeks or months.
so really we dont know they're ******* until after we start dating them..
