Great question. In Revalations it describes a 1000 years when Jesus will inhabit the earth, and during that time the devil will be chained up in an abyss, and the world will be as God originally intended. Once the thousand years pass, then the devil is let loose for little while to galavant around, then gets to go swimming in the lake of fire with his buddy the antichrist. Then death and hell get throwin in to the lake of fire. Oh yeah, anyone whos name is not written in the Book of Life gets tossed in too. Not a pool party I want to attend. So it's all coming...

I'm Mormon, and this is what we believe.
In the pre existence, our Heavenly Father had a plan to send us all down to earth to gain a mortal body, and choose our own path. Lucifer (now the Devil) when he was still and angel like us all, said he wanted to be our Savior. He said he would force everyone to do what is right and he would bring everyone back to heaven, and he wanted all the glory to be his. God said no, everyone will have free will, and He chose Jesus to be the Savior.
Lucifer got mad at this and rebelled against God. In the end, end ended up leading one third of all the spirits away from God with him. God banished them to Hell, and decreed that they would not be allowed to obtain bodies on earth.
So basically, if there was no hell or devil, then there would be no free will, which completely undermines God's plan for us.

God doesn't have to kill a non-existant being or destroy a non-existant place.

These things exist only as man-made myths created by early religious/political leaders to control the masses through fear.

To claim that these things exists implies that God might not win in a war against them. Since God is omnipotent, this is not possible.

God will punish the devil and his angels and destroy hell eventually. It says in Revelations and other places in Scripture. It's all in the Bible. We sometimes cannot understand God's ways like is says in Isaiah 55:9 "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts." But the devil was defeated at the cross, as long as your focus is on God and you are right with Him that is the main thing. God Bless.

God and the Devil are alagories. Not to be taken literally. They are yin/yang, positive/negative, hot/cold, up/down, etc. You know, the way the universe as a whole works. Man has taken a brilliant work of art (the bible) and turned it into this oppresive docterine. Its a shame really. If more people would read the bible and take it as a work of fiction, our world would be at peace..

Because GOD is a loving GOD. He wants us to appreciate him for all he has done for us. He doesn't want to force us to love him. He is giving us a choice. We all have choices. It is just simple, choose right or choose wrong. You do know right from wrong, don't you?He ALLOWS the devil to test our faith. Faith is when you close your eyes as you are walking down an UNKNOWN street. You don't know why you are there, you don't know anyone there, but yet and still you aren't scared of the results because you know GOD is going to be there to protect you. Even when it seems like he has left you, He is still there, carrying you in fact. He gives us all kinds of signs that he does exist. What do you think you GUT feeling is, your conscience? HA! I know what speaks to me when I am about to make a mistake. It is GOD. Trying to guide me out of harms way. We are the ones who mess up our own blessings. Did you know?

Mmm kay...

God crated satin, or the devil... just as he created jesus...

legend says:

In the begining, God created all the angels... Yes, Satin was an angel... Satin was one of the samrtest, most handsome angels, who was needless to say quite arrogant... He was called to worship, and did not think a superb angel like him had to worship with the others... he and about a thrid of all the angels refused, and were cast out of heaven...

Why doesnt God just Zap him down?

Free will... God gave free willl and the use of this free will in negative ways resulted in satins puishment... he tries to drag down others with him...

God is not a brother of satin, but the creater of all...

Good things can't survive without bad things. God and Evil are inverse twins like the poles of the same battery, Yim-Yam, Black and White or right and left wings political parties. The Universe need entropy to stay in balance.
