The best way to use fruits and veggies are whole. (Same for grains.) You can juice them, but you lose a lot of the reason to eat them. Juices have loads of sugar. It takes a bunch of oranges just to make one glass of OJ... would you ever sit down and eat 6 oranges? Probably not.. but you would be better off eating them whole than juicing them.
I am pretty firmly against the whole juicing idea. They're tasty as a treat, but that's what they are... treats.
So grab a whole piece of fruit.. and enjoy. You'll get more out of it than you will out of a glass of juice.
--although.. pomagranate juice is pretty durned yummy... :p and it's SO annoying to eat a pomagranate. Anyways...
Juice is a treat.

im diabetic and i've been told that juice is not good for me because of a couple things: its very concentrated sugar and also the more processing involved, the less healthy it is for you. when you eat a fruit or vegetable in its natural state, then the body has to work to break it down. if you process it, your body doesnt have to work very hard at all and you lose all that fiber and other nutrients. if you are going to try juicing vegetables, then use what is left (the fiber) in soup.

It is healthier to eat the fruits and vegetables in their natural state - a lot of vitamins and fiber are lost in the processing -and water added. However, if you would increase the amount of fruits and veggies in your diet by juicing then you should definitely try it.

Well, it's good for you, but the fibre that's lost/tossed out, THAT's pretty good for you as well.. fills you up, helps you keep 'regular' (everyone would rather have a smooth move ;~~)
and carrots, for one, are extremely high in sugar, so that's getting pretty concentrated when you extract the juice and toss away the rest...
nice treat, very delicious, but EXPENSIVE to throw away perfectly good 'pulp'... eat the fruit and veg WHOLE, buy some V8, or Tropicana OJ, that sort of thing...
