Yes, The Discovery Channel had a documentary on them a few weeks ago. They have been in southern Texas for a few years. Their sting isn't any more potent than a honey bee but they are much more aggressive. They swarm and can chase any threat up to a quarter mile. Because of their aggressiveness and numbers, people that are allergic to bee stings have been documented to have died from multiple stings.

Yes they entered California about 6 years ago, from Mexico, and have spread to several adjacent states.
A person can die, and many have, from multiple stings from a swarm if these bees. They attack in swarms.
If you are bitten run and try to get into a house or car. Get to the nearest Hospital emergency room. There you will most probably be injected with diphenhydramine, (a strong antihistamine), and adrenaline. All in order to stop your immune system from overreacting and you going into life threatening anaphylactic shock.

There are killer bees in the U.S. In fact, one of their first victims was a pit bull chained to a tree in San Diego. That's comedy, I don't care who you are. But it's not the single bee sting that can kill you. Unless you're allergic to bees, that is. It's the fact that they attack en masse. (That means a lot of them all at once.) They literally go into a frenzy and sting the crap out of their victim by the hundreds. That's what kills you. Like in that movie "My Girl".

Yes, they are here. People don't die from a single sting unless they have a severe allergy. The danger comes from their aggressiveness. The bees will often swarm, and inflict hundreds of stings on a single victim.

It only takes one killer bee to alert the whole hive and they all come after you, even if You're not really threatening them but just walking by or something. I think they are just in the south, there was a news report about them being at the tampa zoo last month and a few people got attacked but they get rid of them pretty quickly.

someone that is extremely allergic to a bee sting could. One killer bee sting in itself is not deadly. Killer bees have that reputation because they are relentlessly agressive towards perceived threats. They continue to swarm and sting until humans and animals are overwhelmed.

Yes and you can die since they are in packs to defend their territory. Also I watched on discovery channel that they can chase you for up to 1mile....those are some determined bees!

The other thing I saw years ago, they put a fake toy dog that walks where the bees were and they left so many stingers in it oh,did I mention it stopped working too....that tells you how bad it is when they attack you!

yes, and people can't die from just one sting, unless they are alergic to bees. however, killerbees never are alone, and the person generally gets hundreds of stings which puts enough poison into their body to kill an elephant
