Isn't their only deployment in Afghanistan

Rob Furlong is a former Corporal in the Canadian Forces who holds the record for the longest sniper kill in combat. He was born in Newfoundland.

While participating in Operation Anaconda in Afghanistan during 2002, Furlong shot and killed an al-Qaeda combatant from a distance of 2,430 metres. The shot was fired from a .50-caliber MacMillan TAC-50 rifle.

Furlong is no longer in the army. He currently works as a police officer.

Canada has a military role?

What makes you think Canada has a military role in the world?

Look at your troops in Afghanistan - the way to tell the enemy has been driven out of an area is because Canadian troops are being sent there. (If the enemy is there we will send troops who will actually fight.)

They do not have much of a role - a few troops, special services.
They do have a great reason to want Iraq to be unstable as they are our largest supplier of oil.

Well for a country that refused to go to war with Bush, why
the heck are our troops over there? We have already lost
17 military members, and for what? Time to pull our troops out
of a dangerous war torn country, and bring them home to
safety. Let Bush fight his own war!!
