You can teach yourself out of a do-it-yourself book or website to a certain point, but you need a teacher to get the pronunciation down. French is a bit tricky, with all those silent letters. The accent is difficult if you do not have someone to listen to and correct your pronunciation.

You would need a teacher or tutor to show you how to form the different oohs and ahhs or the yaw sounds. As with any language,it cannot be done by learning online or simply from a book."Bon chance avec votre nouveau langue". Good luck with your new language.

Absolutely. However it would be advisable to get tapes or some other kind of audio for help in pronounciation. But not just any kind, find something that would be used in schools. Check out your library, they can advise.
