Please express answer in percentage per gallon if you know the answer. Also you may know of an epa study that discloses these facts.

In my 18 wheeler, its a gallon an hour.

So, I'm sure in a car its less than that.

I drive a 96 Pontiac Trans Am, I didn't know I was supposed to take my foot off the accelerator. All kidding aside, it gets terrible mileage. It's a sports car.

It's not that simple.
A large motor uses more fuel to idle than a small motor.

not all vehicles are as efficient as each other......
The answer for a Toyota would be different than a Ford.

i read a literature that says that if you have to keep your engine idling for more than a minute, you are better off switching off, which would save more energy. Anything less than one minute, just leave it on

Toyota Priuses don't idle, they just sit there until you step on the accelerator, so there.
