Yes you can. If your dog isn't use to eating bones though take the meat off the bone and give it just the meat. Raw bones are better to give your dog than cooked as cooked bones have a tendancy to splinter. I feed my dogs junk like this all the time and it has never hurt them.

I agree with maegan, dogfood is crap and the stuff that goes in it is surprising if you would do the research on the junk put in petfood. I feed my dogs the raw diet and fresh veggies and etc. I do not trust the dogfood industry as the dogfood killed my dads dog from liver failure because of contaminated dogfood that was recalled, but not until after several peoples pets died.

No, RAW meaty bones are generally pretty safe for dogs, (salmonella is not much of a risk to a dog, as they have a shorter GI tract than we do and can deal with it better) but cooking them changes the composition of bones and makes them brittle and likely to splinter, into sharp edged pieces. If a dog swallows a splintered shard of bone, it may become seriously ill. If the sharp splinter pierces the inside of the stomach or bowel, internal bleeding, blood poisoning and death will be the outcome. Sure, some people do feed them, and are lucky - but is it worth the gamble? My dog was in the vets for a week after she managed to eat glass (from a broken jar of food spilled on the floor) - she was lucky, I got her to the vets straight away and they operated, but it cost a fortune, and the poor dog was in a bad way... do not risk the same happening to your dog by knowingly feeding it stuff that splinters!

No! Pork is very oily and fatening, so depending on your dog's stomach, he could get diarehea! If your dog has a stomach of stone, you can try by giving him a tiny amount and see his stool to see if there was an upset tummy. Remember taht changing or introducing new dog food is very strenous on a dog's tummy, and that's why it should be introduced in 10% steps.

I've been told by my vet and other people that pork is bad for dogs. One person even told me that it caused her dog to go blind. I only give small pieces to her now and again. You have to be careful about bones being a choking hazzard too...depending on the size of your dog.

Thats a big NO! Fatty ribs can cause intestinal problems or worse, and bones are very dangerous. They can splinter and puncture the intestines, or pack up and cause a blockage! I've seen both.

A bite or two of "people" food won't hurt the dog. Dog food is the best food for dogs. But a bite or two of something won't hurt. But don't make a habit out of it. Give them a milk bone instead.

It would be in your dogs best interest if you scrape the meat off the bone, some say you can give the bones to the dogs, but you really shouldn't, they tend to try and actually eat the bones and they aren't big enough to be safe.

NOOOOO - because they are cooked - dogs can only have raw bones. Cooked bones can splinter - can you say major surgery???

I am a vet student - I feed my dog an occasional RAW UNCOOKED bone - but you should never feed the cooked - no matter what all these other people are saying.

No , first reason too high in fat and can cause pancreatitis, second reason no bones are ever recommended for dogs as they cannot digest them properly and pork especially.
