I agree with others that it should be tied to work. Attatch a specific value to each chore (50 cents or a dollar for a night of dishes, 10 to mow the lawn, etc), and pay them every 2 weeks like a real job. They can choose how much they make, or none at all.
It is unreasonable, however, to expect a 13 year old to get a real job. If you have tasks that need to be done, however, reward them for their work. You could also attatch dollar values to grades ($20for an A, $10 for a B, $5 for a C or whatever), since their main job is to be a student at that age.

depends on if your a brat that won't get off his *** and do anything around the house OR if you help when asked with little or no complaining with stuff like take out trash, lawn work, wash dog, help mom unload groceries, watch younger siblings, keep room clean etc. My brothers and I did general chores still had plenty of time with friend and got $10 bucks a week-that was in 80's though! Gotta give to get remember allowance is a reward not something due you cause you draw breath!

When I was 13 I had a job ...Unless you do things at home for your parents you should not get anything. So start mowing the lawn, taking out the garbage, clean up after yourself and anything else your parents need you to do..

A 13 year old should get around 5 b dollars a day. They need to work for what they are getting, because around that age they can get really greedy.

none. they live in the same house, make messes etc. you shouldn't get paid for cleaning up after yourself and helping to keep the house clean. do extra stuff like mow the lawn, clean the vehicles or just ask for extra jobs to earn money
