I prefer ESET's NOD32.
It's very good and very unobtrusive.

Why not ask if people prefer Fords or Dodges? People have preferences based on past performance, recommendations from friends, etc. Most people are die-hards. They will always be faithful to their preference, even if it can be proven that something is better. If you're trying to find out which one you should install on your computer, keep in mind that no antivirus program is 100% effective. So get several but only have one live scan running at a time so your computr doesn't crash. If you can't afford norton, get AVG. If you can afford norton but want mcafee, get it. Make your choice on what works best for YOU, not what works best for someone else.

Depends. I like Norton but when I wanted to uninstall it there were remants of the program all over the computer. It hides alot of files that you have to search for to remove manually. I don't like that.
McAfee is easier to uninstall if you have to do this.
I was uninstalling Norton it on someone's computer as they had a pirated copy. Wanted to put a new version on one I had paid for on.

no longer a competent theory to have 2 antivirus courses. McAfee and Norton are the two good. choose one and use it to its fullest. 2 AV courses will conflict with one yet another and reason you plenty aggravation. i got here upon that out the tricky way.

I use AGV free edition. I works, im my opinion, just as well, if not better than McAffee and Norton. The program is free (hence the name), and its simplier to use that the other two. There's no resubscribing to get new updates, it updates itself everyday automatically. I find it a great program.
