Based on a serving (approximately 6 oz. ) shrimp is no more problematic than many other foods typically thought to be high in cholesterol. Recall how eggs used to be considered bad for you because of the Chloresterol levels? Now they are sold and considered a natural health food and good for you. Also keep in mind the daily required amount of Cholesterol continues to be changed and it depends on how readily your body rids it too. Some folks are naturally predisposed to have problems. So by comparison to all other foods and the serving amount....almost none. The bonus is they have high protien content and very few calories per serving. So unless you plan on eating three pounds a day, it's all good.
I eat about a 1/2 pound of shrimp a week and about three eggs a day. My last Colesterol test was low, so check yours and ask your Dr.
