(a) People who consider themselves to be christians by reading the bible inside-out and who then feel obliged to dictate its message to others (like many of the people here on Yahoo Answers), and who can recite psalms until they're blue in the face?
~or~
(b) Someone like ME, who doesn't follow a religion (I don't need another label thanks), but who works hard to do well in life, help others, and appreciate every day that I am alive?

The VERY FIRST ANSWER just highlights my question. Spouting catchphrases and slogans that have been drilled into you won't get you anywhere.

People like you and me Paul. Like I said to the last bible bumper who asked a ridiculous question...It's not what you believe, it's how you behave that matters.

This is not really a question, your works mean nothing in the eyes of God, as if anything that we could ever do would make us worthy to enter Heaven. Heaven will be opened to those who have accepted His son Jesus as their personal savior, confessed themselves as sinners and asked Him to enter their hearts. This is called Grace. As for dictating "its"(the Bibles) message that is done for a reason, its called the good news because it saves people from damnation, its not that we are trying to push it down anyones throat, its that were trying to see you saved. God Bless

In response to what you said about the first comment, which happens to be true. The Bible is quite clear on this it is not our works that get us into Heaven. She only made that comment because it is the living Word of God. How we feel or how you feel about what Christians tell you means nothing it is only through Jesus that we will get into Heaven. Look at it like this, lets say the pope never accepted Jesus into his life and Charles Manson felt remorse and accepted Jesus into hes heart, we would see Charles in Heaven and not the pope. Our works mean nothing becuase through Jesus all of our sins are wiped out and with out Him they arent and sin cannot enter into the Kingdom of God

Neither, God will open the gates of Heaven to all who know Jesus as Lord and Saviour, does not depend on how much you know but who you know. Does not depend on any of your works no matter how good they are. Just the fact that you know Jesus as Lord and Saviour.

(c) The one who believes in Jesus Christ and has asked for forgiveness and repents of their sins. You cannot get into Heaven just by doing good works because God knows your heart and the evils that had/does exist. (don't take offense to that, even Christians have some evils (aka sins)n their hearts)

I think it would probably be some poor and humble little man or woman in some obscure part of the world (where there are no computers) who has always said his/her prayers, brought up his kids nicely and always tried his best never to offend anyone.

God will open the door to all who preach and practise what the bible says, actions must follow the words you proclaim

I have your answer, and it's neither one. People who are so Christian they squeak are taking pride in the fact, and pride is one of the seven deadlies. Still, as good as you are and as hard as you work to be virtuous and do good works, this all means nothing if you do not accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior.

That's a common thought, and a very convenient one. Without quoting the bible at you, let me simply ask what else in the world is that convenient, and why would we expect this to be as well?

I've just read your question and the answers you've received. You are all, very very sad people. There are people out there who do not follow religion, you suffer from It. Don't become one of them.

Whatever you feel about Christians, forget it and just ask Christ to show you the truth. Don't follow man, follow God.
