Yes Whey Protien powder will definetly work. What you need to do everyday is eat more grams in protein than in pounds you wiegh. For example, if you weigh 120 lbs., you need to eat more than 120 grams of protein each day, and you will gain healthy weight.
(A McDonalds double cheesburger has 25 grams of protein. I just had three).

While I was having problems gaining weight in "lean muscle" I didn't have much success with weight gainer supplements, but ironically I had great success with weigh protein supplements. Also I have read that soy protein and weigh protein are composed of different complex chains of amino acids so basically so you don't miss out on those amino acids take some of each. If you want to gain muscle try taking about 2 grams of protein per pound of body weight for example if your 150 take a total of 300 grams per day. Make sure when your counting up your protein intake that you count the protein in your regular meals to, and try not to eat more than 40 grams of protein per sitting or meal, space the meal times and supplement times out a bit. The reason for the spacing is so that your body can have a chance to store the protein as energy such as ATP carbs and things like that otherwise it gets stored as fat. Your body can only make and will only make so much energy creating reserves such as ATP and amino acids. Also make sure your working out because if your not and your eating this much you'll just pack on belly fat and not nice cut lean muscle which is what I'm thinking that your going for. Remember to keep your diet diverse eat a bit of everything from the food group each day and you wont get sick if your working out like crazy. Your immune system will take a hit if you don't eat properly and work out like like crazy.

If it doesn't matter to you whether you add weight with fat or mussell there is one simple solution. Consume more calories than you burn. Double your portions of food. But beware, once you start gaining it has a way of getting out of control. If you have always been thin it is probably genetic. Your ideal weight may be completely different than the norm. I was skinny all of my life until I lost my job about seven months ago. My weight balooned like crazy. I went four coat sizes and six waist sizes in four months and gained nearly fourty pounds. I felt miserable. I always wanted to be bigger, but I found it wasn't all that much fun. I found another job and just as quickly the weight came off. If you live a sedentary life, no exercize and eat twice as much you will definitely gain weight.

well i don't know your fitness goals so its hard to say. if you're trying to pack on a few pounds of fat then get yourself a weight gainer not protein. whey protein in particular is known among bodybuilders because it digests the fastest. pounds of muscle however, legs are a good place for adding muscle fast however you want to maintain proportion and symetry. for muscle weight and training regimens try picking up a muscle and fitness or a flex. or you can try a site like getbig.com is good. whatever you decide the best of luck to ya.

To the girl who said thin girls are beautiful, not all of them. Chubby girls can be beautiful too.
To the ? asker. If I were you I would go to your local GNC and ask what would be the healthiest way to gain a little weight. I would also call or e-mail your local college's nutrition professor and ask he or she for some healthy ways to gain. While there is nothing wrong with gaining, you still want to do it in a heathy way. Good luck!

I hate it when people tell you not to change, when you obviously want to... It's just rude.
I'd say get those shakes old people drink... I forget what they're called, but they have 300+ calories per bottle, and they're packed with nutrients.
