Local parishes collect donations from their members each Sunday. Donations are voluntary, although the churches recommend that each family donate a certain amount of their income, called a tithe. That money stays with the local church to pay for priests' and other employees' salaries, which vary from parish to parish; these donations also pay for other expenses of the parish, such as electricity, educational supplies, worship supplies, and so on. Parishes are part of a larger group called a diocese, which is presided over by a bishop. The diocese usually sets the amount of salaries paid to priests in their diocese, and the parishes comply. Some parishes have priests who are members of an order (like Franciscans or Jesuits). Those priests may have salary amounts set by their order, and paid by the local parish.

Finances in local parishes are usually under the control of a group of elected parishioners, called a Parish Council. They may also have a smaller committee of elected parishioners who are specifically in charge of finances, as well as other committees who focus on social justice, education, worship services, and the like.

As far as I know, no local parishes (at least in the U.S.) get money from the Vatican. To tell you the truth, I don't know where the Vatican gets money. Catholic churches in developing countries may also get money from local parishes who hold special collections to help out Catholic missions worldwide.

The Catholic Church is a federation of local churches. Each parish receives donations. How that is managed is determined by the local bishop and more broadly by general canon law. Most parishes keep their donations but send a portion for the support of the diocese or eparchy they are in. Likewise, wealthy churches pay an annual funding amount to the Vatican. The Vatican's finances were in shambles until about ten years ago. While the Vatican had significant funds, it refused to reduce its support of the poor, while inflation continually ate into them. The major Churches developed a plan to maintain the solvency of the Petrine ministry. Rome supports a wider range of activities than people realize. For example, when the first Israeli war occured, the Pope realized that there would be thousands of Palestinian and possibly Israeli refugees. This was before the UN was in the refugee business. It is the Vatican that fed the Palestinians and does to this day largely. It also builds irrigation systems, water systems, schools and so forth in the Middle East. Likewise, it maintains the funding for a number of other places where people would starve without it.

Just a note, in the United States a non-married priest's salary is fixed at a maximum of $12,000 per year. I don't know what they pay priests who are married. Since most priests are celebate in the United States, it probably isn't a big deal. I think my own eparchy only has a few.

The donations are sent to the archdiocese and then redistributed back to the parishes as the leadership sees fit. There is some kickup to the vatican, but most diocese's are financially independent so the money only flows in one direction.

Sometimes, there will be a "second collection" that goes to a fund for special projects. This is how the money usually gets to underdeveloped areas and special projects.

Most of it comes from the collection plate (one of the offerings). Some of it comes from property that individuals have donated to the Church. The Vatican also has at least one world-wide appeal (during Lent) to ask for donations directly.

They get the money from local donations, from Vatican (they have a bank) and the bigger the attendance, the bigger sum of money they get.

Priest get a salary and some of the money offers as prayers for dead people. They split that with the bishops. Some get cash gifts. Many get gifts of food and wine.
