its not wise, you know, to go through life slandering the name of Jesus, since you will need Him one day. dont you know that a time will come when you will need to call on His name? it could be in the time of a serious accident, when your life's in danger or threatened, or maybe you need rescuing from someone or something. this is not meant to be threatening or blackmailing, but its just not wise i don't think, when we will all come to a point of need at some stage. we are all mortal, you know.

Because they don't understand...and they believe the lies from the father of lies. It's truly sad...

It can't be understood by the flesh but by the spirit.

They think "religion" not relationship...

Religion is man's way of trying to reach God.

Relationship is God's way of reaching man through Jesus Christ.

To those that don't believe in God/Jesus: Just because you don't believe doesn't mean he loves you any less. ...and just because you don't believe, doesn't mean he doesn't exist. Your lack of belief doesn't change the fact he does exist and he does love you.

Salvation is a gift for everyone! Even...the non-believer.

Grace to you and God Bless!

I believe that many persons do this due to ignorance and a profound lack of spirituality. The world is one family and we all have just one eternal spiritual father; call him whatever you want: Jesus, Krsna, Allah or Buddha. In fact, God has infinite names for he is all-powerful. He is omniscient, omnipotent and omnipresent. Thus, we cannot confine the Supreme to a single name or a single scripture. One of the beauties about Him is that each of His name describes an opulence of His Divine Personality. To slander God or to criticise Him is to insult the very core of our existence

I said this on another similar question, but I'll say it again here...

A "God" represents a higher being in a religion. In turn, religion represents the cause of so much violence, anger, hatred and war in the world today.

So why should people NOT slander the name of God?

Slander the name of God. Why is it when these types of questions pop up, no one lists those who come in the name of God yet are hypocritical... isn't that slander too?

And I was on my death bed once... I called for my husband.

Because most people are unbelievers: and the devil loves to hear the names of God being abused!!!

Hence the most popular sware or cuss words in the world over being any form of discription of God, Jesus, Christ, etc!!

Simple as that!!!

When was the last time you heard someone use the devils name in vein?

Unfortunately, society today downplays religion. More and more people don't even acknowledge the existence of God. For them, using God's name in vain means nothing. It's an unfortunate by-product of a culture that emphasizes "freedom" and "rights" over responsibility and propriety.

Because the world has convinced them He doesn't exist. As a Christian I have been accused of being brainwashed (is it possible to brainwash yourself?!!), however, I believe the non-believers of this world are the brainwashed ones. Unfortunately, the evidence for or against God is not conclusive and whatever our beliefs (or non-beliefs, which is actually a belief!) has to be based upon faith.

The only unforgiveable sin is cursing the Holy Spirit. One day, all will confess the name of Jesus.
