Burning more calories than I take in. Exercise is good as well.
Best of luck.

Stephanie is right. I went on the Atkins diet a year ago and lost 30 lbs and 4 notches on my belt. And I kept it off by maintaining.
It's a good diet because you don't have to go hungry. Just don't eat carbs. Eat protein.
My word of caution is that the diet is very harsh in the beginning but if you stick with it you will be satisified. When you reach that level where you no longer lose and still don't gain, then maintain that so the weight doesn't come back.
Good luck!

Counting calories and writing down EVERYTHING that you eat. Set a caloric goal for the day and write down everything you eat. Once you get focused on calories, certain foods just won't seem worth eating.
BEST WAY to lose weight is to change your mind. Start picturing yourself as a very thing person. Stop calling yourself fat or anything like that. When your eyes are closed and you're ready to fall asleep, think of the way you want to look and imagine as you look down at yourself that you already look that way. Imagine how great you look. Imagine how good you feel. Imagine how 'normal' it feels to be thin. Do that for about 60 seconds every night for about a month. Your brain will take over.

there is no diet plan that works. the best way to keep fit is to maintain healthy eating habits all the time. drink lots of water, try to avoid processed foods and exercise daily. Instead of 3 meals a day eat 6 small healthy meals. The only way a diet plan works is if you eat that way for the rest of your life. eat to live don't live to eat.

The Anabolic Diet a la Di Pasquale. I made the mistake of not watching saturated fat, but the diet is good for a short term, effective weight loss.. short term.. 3 to 6 months....

the detox at about.com its gentle on the body. Its good to cleanse the junk out.
I use it for about 4 days then slowly add in some extra whole grains and lean proteins. Eat as natural as possible. stay away from junk, exercise regularly, just walking will do you a world of good. I really try to stay away from sugar and white starch they trigger many cravings, and raise your sugar levels.

It sounds a bit simplistic but if you'll get a calendar, put it on the frig and write down EVERYTHING you eat everyday....It cuts way down on impulse eating, plus there is just something about having to put it in writing...I also write down what my workout for the day was, in a different color ink of course...Good luck!

Beans, beans, are good for your heart, the more you eat the more you... lose excess weight actually. Super-effective and full regarding fibre, beans will regulate your appetite and slow down the rate at which your own stomach empties, meaning you keep fuller for longer.

Eat goats cheese as opposed to regular cheese. It contains 40 percent fewer calories than the cheese produced from cow’s milk.

People who plan their weekly meals tend to be more successful at losing weight than people that don’t. Plan your dishes to add in healthy carbs such as special potato and wholegrain pasta, greens and lean proteins, buy the many ingredients in advance and don’t be tempted to consume out or order in.
