Some are going to say Jesus and be angry that people celebrate Christmas with Santa because they say Santa isn't real. But neither is your Jesus. I like the story that made Santa's to become known an old man passing out gifts to the poor.

Christmas is the celebration of the birth of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The world has made it into the biggest commercial holiday of the year, and this is very unfortunate. Jesus, dear friend, is very real. His existance is not only documented in the Bible, but is also recorded in secular history as well. You need to be educated in hitory before you make a statement that simply isn't correct. Study the facts, and then you would be more informed and wouldn't be so inclined to mack such an ignorant statement.

Christmas was originally about greed. You see, in the very early days of Christendom it was only a minor religion among the Romans, and they had trouble recruiting followers, because Christians believed in holding back on worldly pleasures so they could get into heaven, and the Romans were having too much fun on Earth to give it up for something that might or might not happen after they died. So the Christians borrowed the date of the Festival of Mithros', (it was also that of Adonis' and Horus's changed it to Jesus's birthdate, and held a party around December 25, and people started joining. And THAT is the true meaning of Christmas.

Actually, there was a Saint Nikolas. The patron saint of children. Which has been turned into "Santa Claus". So, as usual, you're someone who actually doesn't know what you're talking about. This being the case, I'm fairly positive without a doubt, that you're wrong on your Jesus opinion as well. Nice try, next time. Study a little more first. Oh, and FYI......Norman Rockwell....oh yeah...he was an artist, besr know for his work with Saturday evening post...oh, that was a magazine by the way...anyhow.....he painted the fist rendition as to what people refer to as Santa Claus. You probably didn't know that either. And I bet you think evolution is real too.....hahahahaha.

"i'll tell you what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown...lights, please..." you can't explain it any more simply, yet completely ,than Linus in "A Charlie Brown Christmas"...Jesus IS real, and as a Christian, i don't get offended by Santa Claus...when i was a little kid, that's who i wanted to be when i grew up...a Christmas without Santa would upset the child in me...and, i suspect, the children in a lot of us who follow Christ...i will tell you that if i had to have Christmas with only Christ OR Santa, Christ wins 100 times out of 100...but there's no reason that Christmas can't be fun...after all, it's a birthday party! break out the presents and decorations and music and laughter and joy!!!! just remember the Birthday Baby...

Jer 10:1 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
Jer 10:2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
Jer 10:3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the ax.
Jer 10:4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
Jer 10:5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go.

I say Jesus and am not angry about Santa. The person who chooses to celebrate an awesome thing by also doing awesome things himself deserves to be notice but lets not let his shadow hide the real reason for the season.

Long ago, Christmas was celebrated in April. Then they changed to date to make the "birth of christ" coincide with the yearly re-birth of life (after a cold winter), which is an ancient pagan festival time. So, christmas is really at least two festivals rolled into one, a pagan festival and a religious festival. In secular terms, itr has also come to mean a time of homecoming--going home and sharing with friends and family.

The Birth of Christ.

God is real and Christ is real and the Holy Spirit is real.

Santa Clause or Old St. Nick is

NOT.

In fact, we sin when we make Santa first place in our childrens heart and not God.

Well I think Christmas is about the birth of Jesus. I ALSO think Christmas is about spending time with your friends and family to celebrate this. It's about giving and love and a time to honor all the wonderful things that the Lord gave to us, including His son.

That is when a lot of people celebrate the birth of Christ. However, Jesus was not born Dec 25th. He was conceived Dec 25Th. 6 months after his cousin, John The Baptist. That would make Jesus' birth around, Sept, 28-29th.

Good Question.
