You need to have a heart to heart with him.

Your parents are not good pet owners. When you get a pet, you have to have the same patience for raising it as they did with you...or did they? You must have patience and when he has his bad behavior, correct him --- not by hitting or yelling, you make a noise to distract him from whatever he is doing. All dogs deserve a chance and there is not one dog that cannot be rehabilated....given the right circumstances -- having the right owner who will give him attention and proper care. Your parents seem to be giving up too easy. If they insist on giving him away, make very sure he is going to a loving home and where his bad behavior will be patiently worked on. I wish you luck.

Train him. If you can't afford to take/send him to obediance school, check out books and videos on pet training from your local library. You can do your own training. If you try and try, and your dog is un-trainable, be prepared to let him go. Sometimes dogs resist training and can never be good house pets. If you aren't able to send him to school or train him yourself, let your parents find a good home for him. Make sure to wait a long time and be certain you're old enough and responsible enough to train and care for a pet before you ask for another one.

For starters, you can try Cesar Millan's books & videos. Check with your library so you can see if you like them before you buy.

Until you are old enough to support yourself and your dog and give it the attention and training it needs, you may be stuck. Sorry!
