If you knew that you were going to die in a month wouldn't you do everything you could to get things set in order? The devil knows that his time is short. He knows the Bible better than any Christian, he knows that Jesus is coming back to redeem the world from sin, and cut him off. He doesn't want to go down alone. And so he is doing everything in his power to take as many people with him as he can into the lake of fire. Basically, misery loves company.

The Devil lost God that first day he disobeyed Him and sought to be the big man on campus. Without God, there is chaos. The Devil is without God and therefore lives in, and feeds on chaos. He'd much rather stir up the lives of believers than to stay in his place.

Because he is trying hard to get people to join him in hell..and he is winning quite a lot. There are more people in hell than in Heaven...and unlike these Jehova's Witness freaks believe, there are not 144,000 who will be in Heaven (small Heaven, eh?).

He is more than one... he's really a "we" and not a single entity... united in darkness like the good are united in Heaven in the light. So it looks like he's busier because he is multiple spirit.
