Whenever I see a funny question, and I think I get the humor of it, all the other people who answer are either freaking out about the person or just ask for more information. Can't people use questions to make fun of other questions in peace?

Our culture values pomposity (oops! it's called "positive thinking" or "sincerity") more than a merry heart.
Yahoo answers reflects this ugly cultural bias.
And people are JEALOUS of anyone with a sense of humor and a quick wit. "Let me give you some advice." Do you work for a living? Then never, oh never, tell a joke at work. The enemies you make will outnumber the laughs you get.

People take this seriously because you have mostly adults on here and this is kind of their break from all the teeny websites and entertainment things on the net. You get a lot of teens on here asking dumb questions and some adults or overly mature people of any age will react in a negative way.

I'm with ya. I try to joke around as much as possible, but folks just get uptight - problem is - everyone's too busy trying to sound smart.
