Whenever I eat a pineapple, this raw or sore feeling sets in on my tongue. Do any of you experience this effect as well? If so, which fruits?
Also, anyone know how to remedy this?

Yup. Any acidic fruit will do this. When I used to overdo it as a kid on the summer fruits, my back would itch like crazy!!!!!
Cut down on acidic fruits (regardless of how much you love them!) These include pineapple, oranges, nectarines, peaches, etc.

Hee hee. . . when I went to Hawaii on vacation back in 1978, we toured the Dole Pineapple Factory and there was pineapple juice coming out of the drinking fountain, and free samples of fresh pineapple at the end of the tour. I had so much and my tongue felt the same way! Must be the high acidity.

It's not because you're allergic. There is an enzyme found in pineapple and kiwi that causes the burning. Canned pineapple won't have that effect because it's cooked and that destroys the enzyme. After eating fresh pineapple, swish a little salt water around in your mouth. It will burn a little for a few seconds, but then takes the burn away. Your welcome.

I was at a residiential workshop where they served fresh pineapple for breakfast and morning break. By the 3rd day I had a sore-like feeling in my mouth! I thought it was just me!

yes! OMG, I was wondering if that happened to anyone else. Wow! For me it only happens with pineapples. No I don't know how to "cure" it. I've tried drinking water, and eating something else but, nothing works. If you find out then please contact me! ♥

It may be from the tartness of the fruit, or maybe you're allergic to it
