The term déjà vu is French and means, literally, "already seen." Those who have experienced the feeling describe it as an overwhelming sense of familiarity with something that shouldn't be familiar at all. Say, for example, you are traveling to England for the first time. You are touring a cathedral, and suddenly it seems as if you have been in that very spot before. Or maybe you are having dinner with a group of friends, discussing some current political topic, and you have the feeling that you've already experienced this very thing -- same friends, same dinner, same topic !

deja vu literally means, in French, "seen before".
Thats all you really need to say then provide a few examples.
Some place you feel you have been before, or seen before but cannot remember doing.
Or say you had an argument over a skirt you were wearing with an ex, then your current boyfriend had the same argument that you had with your ex you could call it deja vu.
Its just something you have seen or experienced before, that is weird.
like "Ive been here before...in this situation" etc

If I could use a room with a front and back door, I would walk out the back door and re-enter the front door, mimicking the same routine. I would let them see the movie Groundhog Day.
