Probably not but my family thinks it is. It was the first dish my son learned to prepare. When we go camping I take it and a can of Spam. Chop up the spam and add to chicken rice a roni and you have instant "stir fried ham". My kids love it.

I would say that given the rules of this forum it's definitely the safest of the many "treats" you can discuss that are native to San Francisco.

It can be, but it doesn't really define San Francisco or its environment. I think it's simply an advertising scheme. But it's still pretty good tasting. So have fun with it.
