When they do meet for the first time take you german shepherd out of his territory ( your house, and yard) on neutral territory, have them meet like that first. He may think of this as his territory and try to defend it. I own a shepherd as well and they are territorial. If you are getting the cockapoo from a breeder or anyone, most people dont mind if you introduce your dog first to see if its ok. With him being older it will depend a lot on how he feels having a youngster around.

Dogs, like people, are individuals. Some shephards will, some won't. You'll just have to see. Always, though, have two dogs meet on "neutral territory", like out in a park. Don't bring a new dog into your home to meet your old dog, or the old dog will feel his territory or security is threatened.

The Shepherd will probably use the cockapoo's fur to floss his teeth after he has it for a snack.

Well it all depends on the dog. I have 2 dog now I have a greman shepard and a Rot. They get along ok. But the Rot is a little bossie. So I think you can get any dog as long as you have time to train them to get along.

It depends on the dogs personalities. Introduce them and find out.

Absolutely not! Especially if he's not been socialized! All it takes is one good shake of your shephare's head and it can snap the puppy's neck.
