Shrink wrap is just what it says. A plastic wrap that is heat sensitive. large manufacturing concerns have huge hot blowers which will shrink the plastic into place, but even small stores can get hand held blowers which will help to reseal packages.
Usualy the wrap comes in a roll, which comes off the roll in a v shaped piece. Opening the V and slide the item in, and then the plastic is fed to the end, where a hot cutter comes down, sealing the end of the V, making an envelope shape. Doing the same thing on the open end seals the envelope around the item.
All that is left to do is to heat the plastic until it shrinks into place. (Caution, too much heat and the plastic will become thin and pull away at the corners, forcing you to re-wrap!)
