Manuel, it's a friend here, so listen.

I understand your questions and you're not at all alone. Sometimes it feels like there is no hope at all. You call on God and you feel like He's heard nothing you've said--like you didn't say it the right way or that He's just uninterested in whatever you have to say being a sinner or just young and confused. I kept pounding myself for the longest time: "why am I so...stupid? so selfish and sinful? God help me!" I know it's hard, to feel like He's not listening, but be encouraged in that He is. God is mindful of all His children no matter their circumstances. He knows how you feel and, trust me, it's breaking His heart, your lack of faith. Like Jesus hung like roadkill on a wooden cross all in vain. That's like (hypothetical sitch), you lose a good deal of weight and work out and buy your crush this outstanding gift as a sentiment of your admiration, and she's like "boo! loser!" You're like "what?" It's that kind of heartbreak.

You're probably thinking like, "what does HE know?" But I've been where you are, and I know how hurt feels. It 'blows hard'. I think you should reevaluate your reasons for serving the Lord God. Are you praying and obeying His commandments, resisting temptation and sin because you want money and other things like that? or do you 'serve' Him because you Love Him? I like money too. Money buys things that make me feel good, like my car and clothes and TiVO; but Jesus' death, His Body, and Blood bought me something that feels so much better, something I can feel every moment of every day: love. You say that you feel that God's not listening and that He doesn't care what happens to you....that's like saying Puff Daddy doesn't care how many records he produces--Hello! I can only tell you so many times that He IS mindful of you and your situation. In times when envy prostrates our minds (others getting better jobs than you; or my general envy of others' possessions), He looks for us to pray and to be faithful, just as He was in the beginning.

In my freshman year of college, God called me to a Christian campus ministry group. Long story made short, I submitted to Him and He showed me things about life and myself and our relationship. I thought everything was going fantastically, like I was starting to live my life 'the right way'. Then, I stumbled and slipped back into some of the old habits I'd tried to give up for Him. At this point, I began to feel hopeless, like NOTHING was going to help me...and then He called out to me, "stop trying to act like you can just do this all yourself [Hannes]! You need me! This is why I have sent the Son of Man to die that you might live! I love you, but you turn from me..." In my walk with the Lord, I've come to find that God is really good at conviction. Speaking personally, I'd say that's definitely one of His strong points. I implore that you not give up faith and continue to pray. Seek not the things of this world, but rather seek in Him the Light of Forgiveness and Eternal Life.

Listen, were it not for the grace of God, His forgiveness and my FAITH that He would fix things in turn, I would probably have dropped out of college and probably been working in a brothel and selling drugs to pay rent. I have faith in that the Lord God will further reveal His Love and grace to you. When you pray with a clean and pure heart (how do you know? you just know) He listens, and if you listen, really LISTEN, not with your ears, but with your heart, He'll answer and you'll know---you'll just know.

Pray with me: "Dear Jesus, Lord Most High, I come to You now bearing thanks and praise for Your Grace and Mercy shown to a humble sinner. Lord God, I pray for conviction Precious Lord that You might show me the error of my ways. Lord, lead me not into the temptation and fashion of this world but, instead into the Light wherein there is no envy, no spite, but only Grace. Father God, most of all, I pray for Your Forgiveness. Lord, renew me in the Light and keep the Word close to my heart. Thank you my Lord for your constant, unchanging Love. Lord God, may I always stand steadfast for You in the face of sin and keep Your Name Holy. Amen"

I really hope the best for you, and I'll be praying for you! Keep your faith and remember: HE IS listening and He loves you more than you can imagine.
God Bless.

Hannes.

First off, God doesn't owe us an answer in any way, shape, form or fashion. He allows us life, that's good enough. He doesn't bless anyone, anywhere, anymore, like he did the apostles in the first century. Now things happen in this life and He allows it. If you don't go to God in prayer with a humble heart and "soften his face" with love he can block your prayers with a "cloud like mass" (Lamentations 3:44) so that He doesn't even hear them. Also in order to be forgiven, you must FIRST forgive others. He doesn't want us to accept THIS life as the BE ALL AND END ALL, this life and this world are passing, and Jesus' Kingdom and the New Earth is what we should be looking toward. When you will have all of eternity to have fair and equal chances, then you will be able to have the same opportunities as anyone, it won't matter who.

Don't let this world get you down. Keep up your spirit and realize its not forever.

Try looking for things you can be thankful for each day. Make a list at the end of every day of what God "has" done for you that day. Concentrate on those. Sometimes, God's answer isn't "no" it is "NOT YET".

If someone is mistreating you, you should report them to the authorities. If you are treated unfairly, turn the other cheek.

Here is my list for today: Thank-you Father, that you provided my food for today, my job, my car, my family is healthy, sunny day, 12 blooms on my cactus, I finished another project, I got my first "best answer" on YA, God answered my prayer about a specific request regarding a difficult situation that turned out in my favor, there was hot water for my bath (for some people in the world, this is a miracle), etc.etc.etc.

Did anything bad happen today? Sure, but why concentrate on the things you cannot change. Pray for wisdom to know which things you can change.

God listens to you , God listens to everyone who speaks. However, God cannot do everything for everyone all the time. It is up to us as individuals to lead are own lives and make the best of what we can where we can. Don't lose faith in God, because when you least expect it God will be there. I know in personal tragedy and hardship it sounds so easy to say, especially when the one who is saying it is not going through the same issues. Well I can't solve your problems for you, however, I can only say is don't give up yet, don't give up on God when God hasn't given up on you. No I'm not relgious, but I believe in God. God has helped those that I know of through some difficult times when everything looked impossible. There are times in life when all that we see and know is despair. But suddenly from the stormy seas, riding on high is the sun. The challenges in life are what could be termed a test of character. And we ask why? am I not strong when I am good? And God would say that we were given this world to make of it what we could and people have done wrong. So God will say that you are My Children but even children look after themselves when their parents cannot. So you must make yourself strong in this world that people have made, not what God has made. I wish I could say something more definate, more comforting. In our darkest moments we long for someone to come into the dark with a torch in hand to help us through. Well God is not a human on earth and the torch will come through other means. You have done your talking now, so I can only say now is to listen for God's reply. And not listening as you would another human being, listen with your soul. There will be an answer.

God does keep everybody's account and thus the results. If we do good deeds we get good results and vice-versa. The most important thing is that we should be able to realise our own mistakes and should try not to repeat those mistakes. Most of the people do not realise though.

As you wrote, you pray to God and read Bible etc. but you know what, you don't have patience and another most important thing is you don't have complete belief in God. You should be like an innocent child before God, the more you are innocent, the more you would be closer to Him. And you will realise that God takes care of everybody in this world. It is our deeds which reflect back to us. And another thing is our satisfaction. If we are not satisfied, nothing can satisfy us.

I know that giving suggestions is easier, but I felt myself.

God blesses us all everyday. He blesses us with our family or friends, another day here. He gives us pathes in our lives and obsticals to make us better people.
No, none of us are perfect, but that is why God forgives us of our sins. That is why he is an awesome God.
Not all of our preys can be answered 100% the way that we want them to be. Maybe your preyers have been answered and you just dont see it.

If you have Christ in your heart, God hears you.
God cares, but sometimes what we want, God knows it is not what we need. If you don't have a good paying job, it's not God's fault. Education, social skills, personality has a lot to do with it. Plus to get a good paying job, you have to be able to sell youself at the job interview. I mean, make your point that you are who they want for the job. If you're sitting around waiting for God to drop a job on your head, you will be waiting for a long time!

don't rely on a god to help you out, he doesn't exist. the only way you will get a good paying job ar anything god is to take responsibility for your own life. work hard, study and get qualifications then good things will come.

most of the people who say god has blessed them have had sheltered lives and never had to worry about anything because mummy and daddy looked after everything. they are likely to be children who have not experienced life.

i think it's just evidence to the concept that god doesn't exist. i know we all want answers to why we are here on Earth and why we do what we do and God is always peoples easy answer. but look at the facts: good things happen to horrible people and people that are wonderful just the same. my opinion is that you should just wake up everyday knowing that good things will happen to you. realize that everyone gets their share of luck. some good and some bad. keep being a good person and surround yourself with other good people and just keep yourself happy. have a good attitude and you will find yourself not feeling so bad about things.

Faith in God has never been a guarantee of wealth or success. Jesus lived a humble life, and asked his followers to give up most everything to follow him. God does not reward us for faith, nor punish us for our lack of it. God is present, but God does not manipulate the world around us. To have a good paying job is something to be grateful for, but that doesn't mean that God arranged it. If you read the Bible you will see that people who lived out their faith, never had it easy. It doesn't mean God doesn't love us, or hear our prayers. We live our lives the best we can, and we make our own decisions and there are consequences to those decisions. Are you living a life of faith, praying, etc...in order to recieve rewards? Or because you desire relationship with God? I encourage you to rethink the basis of your faith.

Have you ever heard of the Waldensians? They were persecuted without mercy by the Catholic Church. Their villages were burned and the people, even women and children, were tortured and killed. Yet they remained faithful until death. Maybe God is testing you to see wether you will remain faithful through hardship. And remember; it could always be worse. You should thank God for what you do have and not complain about what you don't have.
