I read somewhere that if you have dry hair, you should use pomade instead of other products to style it because it moisturizes your hair. What is pomade?

Pomade is the hair grease that people in the 50's use to wear. Sure it will help dry hair, but it will make your hair really greasy.

Pomade is pretty much like hair gel, however, there is a difference. Unlike hair gel, pomade is a bit more greasy or waxy and it is softer. Where as hair gel is more sticky and harder on the hair. Pomade also tends to make the hair a bit shiny as well.

Personally I have seen pomade mostly used for dry or natural looking hair styles. I would recommend it over hair gel if you have dry hair.

Also remember that since pomade is more greasy and or waxy, it might take you several washings to get it out of your hair. One brand that I would recommend would be "American Crew Pomade"

hope that helps ;)
