Here is the caveat: You are a 39 year-old, unmarried, white male living in New York City. Please answer as you see fit, but remember who you are in this hypothetical scenario. Also, please do NOT answer with just one word, like "travel" or "quit." Where would you travel - and for how long? After you quit, what would you do every day? I am looking for MEANINGFUL, THOUGHTFUL responses.

Well that's not enought money to forget work. You should allocate certain amounts of money to be used for diffrent purposes. For example: amount of money to spend and amount to invest and/or save.

Me, I would go on a nice vacation to Rome/Greece and I would buy myself some nice clothes and go out to some fancy resturants.

Then maybe an addition or new furniture for my house.

I'd invest in one or more of the following:stocks/bonds/ and real estate.

You'd be surprised how fast that money can go, but if your smart it can last a life time.

You could get a good stockbroker and invest intelligently and maybe be able to live off the interst/dividends while working a relaxing job to insure your capital.

I would send some to my parents, set up a college fund for my son, and put the rest in the bank for retirement.

I would buy whatever I had dreamed of having (car, nice house, etc.) Then I would settle down and find me a lady. Marry her (hopefully), and live happily ever after (no sarcasm)
