If you don't know any better...you won't know the difference. The cubic zirconia has more color to it...and by that I mean when you see it in the light you see it sparkle with color...while a diamond usually doesn't. The smaller the cz, however, the harder it is to tell. There is nothing wrong with a cubic zirconia, but if you are worried about price...I suggest looking for a gemstone.Who says the ring has to be a diamond. Try looking at zircon (a real gem stone) or moissanite...maybe even something colorful. When I got engaged, I asked for a pink sapphire with smaller diamonds around it. Not very expensive and people are always complimenting it. Whether it is an engagement ring or not...remember diamonds aren't everything.

It really isn't possible for a cubic zirconia to look real if you know anything about diamonds or gems. A diamond has a certain quality when you look into it, a depth, while a cubic zirconia looks mostly like a piece of glass.
I hope you are not asking because you want to "fool" a girl into thinking you got a real diamond - because you wouldn't want to start off something like an engagement with anything fake. If you can't afford a diamond, you could always get a nice ring in her birthstone or a stone in a color she really likes.

If you can't afford a real diamond, then there is nothing wrong with wearing a CZ ring, most people will not pay that much attention to your finger to sus out what you are wearing. (and your finger won't turn green so long as the gold is real) If this is really a problem you don't even have to have diamonds in an engagement or wedding ring, you can be different/origional and wear any of the other gorgeous stone instead and it will still look stunning, My ring is a stunning solitare sapphire, cause I like them better by choice. Only the wearer has to be happy with the ring!!

Mine's a CZ and I love it. I like that the focus of my ring has been the commitment and not the size or price. It's much harder to wraped up in all the hooplah around jewelry when all you wear is a simple gold band with a bitty, little cz in the middle. I like it, but, I know that some women would disagree. You decide.

one practical drawback to CZ vs diamond is that CZ is less hard than diamond and scratches much easier if accidentally scraped up against a hard surface. Since rings are on hands and hands come into contact with hard surfaces, your CZ could get banged up looking. I have a CZ promise ring and it has a scratch. I look forward to the real thing, even if it is small...

I guess, my grandma is a gemologist and she wears her cubic ziconia jewlery all the time. Trust me complements, complements, complements. I wear different types of ziconia you should too. Diamonds have a different kind of shimmer , cubic zirconia shimmers all around

Usually if you know even the slightest bit about diamonds, you can tell the difference. I recommend going to a jewelry store so you can compare their cubics and diamonds side by side...

yes it is possible for it to look real but if you give it to someone and it is a fake ring it will turn that persons finger green. A lot of CZ rings look fake. They often have that outrageous cant be real look to them.

Go to QVC.com and check out their diamonique jewerly. Its great! I refuse to buy diamonds because of how horrible the diamond industry treats the miners, and will only ever buy diamonique. They have very nice diamonds. I get compliments on my rings all the time.

Yes they do look real. A jeweler can tell the difference and has a machine that will detect real from fake.
