it used to be called longhorn, but they changed the name to vista, something to do with a window on your world or something like that. it is availabe for download as a beta version, i don;t have a link to give you sorry, but i;m not sure when the retail version will be released. prolly after they get back reports of all the bugs in the beta version and try to fix them. anyway, it look super cool. if you have a graphics card(s) that can support it, it has 3-d windows so instead of putting one window on top of another, they are layed out so you can see the edges of each one (kinda like XP does when you open up a bunch of non-fullscreen windows, but they are twisted to give a 3-d feel.

About 2 or more years ago they were working on one called, believe it or not, Longhorn. It was scheduled to come out in Jan or Feb 2006. There was nothing but problems problems problems, so that was shelved. The backup is what is supposed to be coming out soon. I am to believe that there is mega problems with this operating system also. I think when they do come out with something, whatever it may be called, I will just let everyone else try it for a while before I take the plunge.
Did you try the beta 7 browser? I loved it but it is not compatible with McAfee security, Mozilla Firefox and something else, I forget. Anyway I had to delete it. I was told they were working on the bugs and it would be awhile before this was available to all.
What would the cyber world be without bugs??????

It's called VISTA and has been delayed to "after the end of the year" ie 2007 according to Microsoft...
