I ask this question, because I know that some people believe that Christ is soon to return, due to all the scriptural prophecies coming to pass. While there are some who believe that He has already returned and we are living our lives post 2nd coming. And then there are those, who believe that it is all 'hog wash' and we are to live our lives as we want, and when we die, its all over. So live it up! Where do you fit in with all this?

I do believe that Christ will return soon. I thought maybe that it would be at a far-off time, but let's face it, humanity as we know it is about to end soon. I say this because if you study about the law of accelerating returns, it suggests that technology has been progressing at an exponential rate ever since the creation of man. Do you think that once we reach the singularity point (which will be in the first half of the 21st century) and start merging with machine that God will allow this? Or how about cloning another human being? I don't see God allowing either a. an artificial being or b. a human clone. So, if these things happen without heavenly intervention, than we are God and none of these things are true. It's either now or never. You have to understand that this is a very crucial time we're living in. Anything is possible. Keep your mind open.

The Book of Revelations & perhaps Daniel of the Old Testament. have caused all this "blessed" speculation. The former has warned about those who would "add or substract" to the book and also states that NO MAN (or woman) will know the day or hour... and the book of Daniel was only to be opened upon the later days on some kind of Jubilee time or whatever. At any rate, the chief progenitors of all this lunacy have their beginnings in the interpretations of these books as "written in stone" rather than as mere warnings around probable cause & effect. In short, if the hearts, heads, and hands of our humanity cannot be changed... if our capasity for caring, our thinking, and our actions do not fall into line with those "small, still inner voices" which God has instilled within each of us, then, yes, maybe these predictions will come to pass. Otherwise, it is my belief that we should treat these books as "apocraphal" and reserved for those Biblical scholars & theologians that are trained & responsible enough to not abuse the books' contents.
As far as those choosing to be dismissive of God's existence, that is indeed their perogative and they do it by their own volition, and, their own peril... I believe in a Divne Personality... an omnipotent, omniscient, & omnipresent spirit who is interested in the development in each sentient being/ individual in this universe. A lot of people have major difficulties "wrapping their heads around" these attributes, by definition, of God... and understandably so.... There are nevertheless many reasons and teleological referencings that point to God... ones not easily dismissed. I think it foolish to not live one's life according to a moral backdrop. Those who can live by the Golden Rule despite a "lack of belief" I'd have no difficulties in accepting.... but anyone who would defile the rights of others because they believe there is no God and therefore no suffered repercussions for their acts of malfeasence, I would seek to keep "in check."

Rev.1:7; Says they will," wail," at the coming of Jesus. Hard to understand. The last days in this old world, is going into the last day with Jesus and his John 6:39,40,44;

YOU WOULD THINK EVERYONE WOULD BE GLAD FOR JESUS TO COME??????????

Most all are against the math in the bible, but I decided in 1999 to check it out because rumor is rumor and no one knows where they come from, and it seems that is not trusting the word of truth, which is all we have in reality.

So the math gives Satan 6,130 years from Eden to the reign of Christ Rev.20:1-6; 1000 year reign for the sum of all LOST, is SAVED in 7,130 after Eden and turned over to God as perfect. This ends God's rest day from creating, so there is a new heavens and a new earth.

Now in 2006 after Christ, 6,072 after Eden, and Daniel gives 2520 years + 150 = 2670 and we are 2612 from then.

IT SURE DOES MAKE SENSE TO ME THAT GOD AND CHRIST KNOW IT ALL.

Matt.24:3,7,14,15,22,36-38[ Only God knows the day and the hour that 6,130 years is TO BE, GOD[ 22 ], can cut it short ]; Rev.7:9-17; Those that come through the great tribulations have been exposed to heat.

Yes, He will return. Why.... because that's the way it is. Really, can you change truth? So someone believes its not true, so they're fine.... Whatever. I guess for you its important to find the truth, because there can only be one. You can look at prophecies being fulfilled or see signs with your own eyes. But, until you know in your heart that God lives and the Christ will someday return, none of that will really matter.

Sometimes I do believe that we are living in the last days, only because of everything going on in our society today. However, it says in the Bible that Christ will come at a time when we are least expecting it. But a friend of mine told me that the Bible also says that He will come during this time period, because some of the people who were alive 40 years ago would still be alive. From this, my friend gathered that we don't have too much longer, about 30 years max.

Yes, There is no doubt that we are living in the last days of the world. The bible gives a clear description of every possible scenerio for the end of the world. And it's happening right before our very eyes. Worldwide disease, Global warming, Aids, Wars, Threats of Nuclear war, Middle Eastern conflicts, Israel is at war with Palestine, Terrorism, Unbelievers will increase, Famine, Pestilence. These are just a start of what has begun.

Christ does much more than simply “return.” The word pa•rou•si´a literally meaning a “being alongside” or a “presence.” Most scholars agree that this word incorporates not only an arrival but also a subsequent presence—as in a State visit from a royal personage. This presence is not a momentary event; it is a special era, a marked period of time. At Matthew 24:37-39, Jesus said that “the presence [pa•rou•si´a] of the Son of man” would be like “the days of Noah” which culminated in the Flood. Noah was building the ark and warning the wicked for decades before the Flood arrived and wiped out that corrupt world system. Likewise, then, Christ’s invisible presence lasts over a period of some decades before it too culminates in a great destruction.

When Jesus’ disciples asked him: “What will be the sign of your presence and of the conclusion of the system of things?” Jesus responded by giving them a detailed description of that future time. (Matthew, chapter 24; Mark, chapter 13; Luke, chapter 21; see also 2 Timothy 3:1-5; Revelation, chapter 6.) Jesus described a composite “sign,” one made up of many evidences, including wars, earthquakes, persecution of Christians, and a preaching about the Kingdom. (Mt 24:4-14, 32, 33) This sign amounts to a detailed portrait of a troubled era marked by international wars, rising crime, deteriorating family life, disease epidemics, famines, and earthquakes—not as localized problems but as globe-embracing crises.

Also, at 2 Timothy 3:1-5 we read: "But know this, that in the last days critical times hard to deal with will be here. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, self-assuming, haughty, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, disloyal, having no natural affection, not open to any agreement, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, betrayers, headstrong, puffed up [with pride], lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godly devotion but proving false to its power; and from these turn away."

Nope. I believe in preterism, because it seems to be more consistent with the Bible.

Preterism says that Christ's "Second Coming" occurred in 70 AD, with the Fall of Jerusalem. The seven-year Tribulation was the Jewish revolt against Rome, lasting from 63 AD - 70 AD. The AntiChrist was Nero or Vespasian, and the seven-headed beast represented Rome, which was built on seven hills.

No we are not in the last days and Christ isn't coming for anyone. Why is it people actually buy into this crap? Christ was a MAN nothing more and nothing less...a great teacher...ahead of his time...but a man. Now on the other hand maybe GOD will ascend from the Heavens and tell all the Jesus followers that they are blastpheming him by presenting Jesus before him and condemn them to HELL. Well maybe we'll all perish before the end times ever even start as a result of our overpopulating our planet and exhausting its available resources. CHECK OUT WWW.UUA.ORG...PEACE!

There are so many Biblical prophecies that have come to pass - and some of them have come to pass just recently! If some dude walked up on the street corner and started saying that a meteor was going to destroy earth, and then the meteor was spotted heading to earth, you would believe the dude, right? Yet all of these Biblical prophecies are coming to pass that were written so long ago, and everybody says the Bible is a joke. What's up with that?

God loves every person so incredibly much that He sent His only Son to suffer and die - and He would have done it just to save you. He loves you so much and He wants you in heaven with Him. He IS going to come again and take to heaven all those who love Jesus. The Bible prophecies are fast coming true. God is incredibly in love with you, and with me, and I'm looking forward to spending eternity with Him and with my friends and family. I hope you'll be there too!
