It depends on how the lotus notes contacts were exported. Notes allows the contacts to be exported in various formats - one of which is csv. If the files you have were created by exporting contacts as csv, you just need to open MS Excel, then do File->Open and point to the notes contacts (csv) file. Excel will ask you if the fields in the file are delimited and what's the delimiter. Select comma as a delimiter and all the contacts will be imported into the excel.
